how long after the opk positive....

do you ovulate? Unfortunately, I do not ever feel it, but have been getting a positive opk each month - typically around the same time. I am just not sure how to determine the day I ovulate. Is it ever three days after the positive opk? The box says within 24-36 hours, but I was wondering if that is just average or can it be longer? Thanks!!

Re: how long after the opk positive....

The OPK only shows your body is releasing the hormone that tells your ovaries to gear up to release that egg.

Depending on when you caught the surge you can O anywhere from 4 hours to 36 hours from when you got a positive.

If you got the surge today, I would BD today, tommorow, the day after and the day after that to be sure.

Are you charting along with OPK's or just using the OPK's?

If you were charting along with OPK's you would see your temps rise after the OPK caught the surge.

Happy BD"ING...get off the computer and go grab DH!!

LOL - no, this happened two weeks ago, I was just curious about counting how many days from that point. Thanks for the info. I am not charting, but know I should.

Re: how long after the opk positive....

once you get a positive you ovulate 12-36 hours later. do you temp? that can help you also determine ovulation. once you get 3 consecutive days of high temps that indicates ovulation.

Re: how long after the opk positive....

Without temping there is no way to know for sure when you ovulated. You can "assume" (dangerous) that you did 12-36 hours after the surge.
