Question for those of you that had D&C...

I had a D&C almost 10 weeks ago. I then naturally got AF 5 weeks after that. Then got AF again 2 weeks later. Then 1 week later I spotted for a week. So, I'm now going on 10 weeks and have not bleed or spotted for a week.

For any of you in a similar situation, when did you start TTC again? I'm very down about how long this is taking. I was hoping to have had two normal AFs by now and TTC already.

And, to top it off, one of my best friends who was planning a destination wedding for Summer 2008 has moved it up to March 2008. I can't plan this around her, but feel sad that I could be in my third trimester then and unable to travel. I keep thinking if only my first pregnancy had stuck my baby would have been born in Sept 2007. I think this is minor in relation to the MC, but its something tangible that I can focus my sadness on.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. Chat Icon

First off, sorry for the sucky thing that you had to go through.

I also think about the "first baby" and that things would have been more convenient based on my life as it's going. But you can't think that way or you'll go crazy!

After the D&C I bled for about a week, got AF 4 weeks later, and then again 2 weeks later. My body seemed to have actually gone back to my original AF schedule from before I got PG! Weird, but your body may be doing the same thing.

We started TTC after the 2nd AF.

Good Luck to you!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Would you consider my cycles as having had 2 AFs? I was told the same, but not sure that they were two real cycles. Its been 10 weeks, isn't that long enough to wait??

I talked to my doctor a few weeks back and she suggested to wait a little longer. I want to call again (and probably will soon) but always feel like I am annoying to her b/c I insist on her calling me back rather than speaking to a nurse. I had received a lot of bad info and insensitivity from the nurses after my MS so now I don't want to talk to them about when to TTC again.

Well, I had the same as you without the last spotting you spoke about, so I would say you had 2 AFs. I think it's enough.

Don't feel bad about asking your doc, that's what they get paid for!!!
