silly ?

if you start to dialate, will you lose your mucas plug?? i am so not ready for labor but i have no idea what to expect, i mean i read up on it online, but u never know!! just wondering!!

not necessarily. I read somewhere last night that dilating allows you to lose it because it gets loosened, but both can happen weeks before or right as labor is starting. I honeslty didn't know that since I lost mine while IN labor the first time!

not always. you can be dialated for quite some time before you lose your plug.. and on the flip side, you can start losing your mucus plug but still not go into labor for a week or so either.. it happens differently for everyone!

I walked around fingertip dialated, then 1cm and 2cm dialated for like 3-4 weeks before I went into labor -- but I never lost my plug all that time. It was only when I went into labor and went to use the bathroom one last time before leaving for the hospital that I finally noticed that I lost my plug ! I had DS the next morning

I was 2 cm dialated without losing my mucous plug a few days prior to labor...BUT I will tell you 4 hrs before my water broke I heard "POP" then saw I "think" half of the mucous plug and 3 hrs later water broke and didnt stop running.
