Spinoff to being a PG snob...
I went to my stepsister's adult bat mitzvah she had last night in a synagogue in Plainview.
After the service, they had some coffee, fruit, cake, etc in the adjoining room.
Now, let me say at this point, I really do look PG - maybe not the 9 mts PG, giving birth any day now look that I am, but PG enough where its obvious.
I had to fight the crowd to get to the bathroom. It got to the point where I had to be rude and push thru people. You'd think people would part the waves a little to let a big fat preggo by, but no.
THEN - I ventured over to the food table to try and get some fruit (which I have been craving big time) - yeah right - you know people were bumping against my belly to get closer to the food table???? It was a mob scene.
DH was shocked when he saw that I pushed back in all my glory - later he said I looked like a crazy preggo, but I didn't care. I saw mangoes and green grapes, and damned if I was not going to get to them!
I had to find a safe spot to stand and eat - people were just pushing and shoving like they never friggin saw food before - but I tell you - what got me was the constant bumps against my belly without one excuse me or "oh, I'm so sorry!" I would be mortified if I bumped against a pregnant woman's belly!!!
Just wanted to vent. This is at a bat mitzvah on Shabbas, no less, after everyone prayed and discussed how to be kind and compassionate to each other. Guess that only applies when there's no coffee or cake to fight over.

Liza, you know as well as I do that when you have a buffet celebrating a Jewish milestone, that it is every man, woman, child and fetus for itself. I speak from 36 and a half years of experience. Prego or not, you have to go in with your "Full Metal Jacket" war face on! If there is a chocolate babka, you take your life into your own hands!!!

Re: Spinoff to being a PG snob...
I had this happen at home depot today...people were annoyed and trying to push me out of the way as I stood in line to pay. Jerks. Not one person cared that they were shoving my belly/baby into the "bar" of the cart each time! Like you said, I'm not enormous...but COME ON!!! It's obvious I'm pregnant! [even more so today as i wore a tank top and open sweater!
