Which type of siding?
We are replacing our siding and I need opinions. We are on a corner, and the way that our house and our neighbor's house sit 3 sides of our house are very visible. Due to so much of the house being visible, I want to do all 4 sides the same, my preference is all shakes but that's a lot more money. DH wants shakes in the front, regular siding on the rest.
Also, this is not our forever home. We plan to be elsewhere in the next 3-5 years.

We have the perfection siding on the front and regular siding on the sides and back.

The fake shingles. I don't know why they call them shakes, but all the contractors have called them that.

I personally like the same siding on each side of the house.
I don't like the shingle look. Just regular siding.

I like the all shakes, but if cost is a factor, I would do all siding. I don't like the look of mixing the two.

I love the fake shakes but they are $$$. I would do it just on the front. All the homes around me are just doing it on the front and it looks very pretty. As long as the regular siding matches perfectly it will look great!!

if this is not your forever home, then i would opt for all siding. forever home? definitely all shakes.
