Jealous
It seems like everyone around me is either PG, just had a baby, or has little ones. I feel really jealous lately! I have the itch really badly, but my job situation is not permanent yet and kids can't happen until then (tenure - May '08). Dh and I haven't even started trying yet, but still I'm envious of those around me.
Does anyone else feel this way? Am I being ridiculous?
PS - I'm 30 (not old, I know, but tick tock), & dh and I have been married over three years now.

I think it's not so much jealousy but that feeling you get because you want your own chldren. I love my two nieces more than anything and yet, when I leave them, I have a sad sort of feeling. I can't describe it but I know it's that stupid clock ticking.

Im getting tenure the same time as you and since we know we will have issues, we plan on trying this summer. If anything I will be due end of the school year and it wont be a big deal

Yes, but I don't think of it as a bad jealousy, meaning that still wish the best for those who are PG. It's not like "she doesn't deserve to be PG, I do". It's more of an intense longing on my own end.
I think it is normal and as long as you can still be happy for other people, it is okay.

I started to experience this when we first started trying to conceive but now i am back to being really happy for those that are pregnant or just had a baby and the jealousy has subsided. I think that we all go thru phases, when we want to be at a particular point in our lives and we arent, and everyone else seems to be at that point. it's only natural.....

I know how you feel. DH and I are not ready to start TTC yet and probably won't be ready for another 2 years. But I really wish we were ready now and being around friends and co-workers who have babies or who are PG, makes it harder to deal with. I am happy for them but sad for us. I have to keep reminding myself that our time will come and the wait will be worth it!
