Miracle Blanket?
I was just on parenting & saw a lot of mention of the Miracle Blanket as something you can't live without. What exactly is this? Any pics?

Re: Miracle Blanket?
Its a swaddling blanket that is really easy to use and very tight on the baby. I loved it from when my daughter was 4 weeks until about 18 weeks old. Here is a photo of my happily sleeping baby burrito.

Awwww so sweet! She's precious.
Does BRU carry it?
Is it necessary even in the summer?

Re: Miracle Blanket?
BRU carries something similar called Swaddle Me. I love them, I registered for 3. It was a lifesaver with DD.

Re: Miracle Blanket?
Its not to keep baby warm, its a soothing device. Baby is used to being snuggled up inside you right now, so coming out into the big world is a bit of a shock. Swaddling can be an alternative to having to hold the baby all night long! During the summer she slept in the miracle blanket with only a diaper on so she wouldn't be to warm.

Re: Miracle Blanket?
The swaddle me is also a swaddling blanket, but its not the same -- it works with velcro, while the Miracle Blanket uses the baby's own weight and wraps around a few times. My daughter could bust right out of the swaddle me way before she could break loose from the Miracle Blanket (which I ordered online, not sure what stores carry it.)

Re: Miracle Blanket?
Buy Buy Baby is now carrying them or you can get them online. I used it with DS until a few weeks ago and really recommend it.

Re: Miracle Blanket?
..Or you can just use a regular receiving blanket to swadle. That's what I did with DS and it worked fine.

Re: Miracle Blanket?
www.miracleblanket.com - It is a life saver - even if you "think" your baby doesn't want to be swaddled - they do -and this will hold them in, and sleep longer at night!

Re: Miracle Blanket?
Does anyone have a link to this on BBB's website? I just searched for it on their site and didn't find it. Thanks!

I think the difference is for people who are spazzes, like me - the receiving blanket you still have to figure out how to swaddle, while these types of blankets are idiot proof...

Also, there was no way DS would fit swaddled in the regular receiving blankets after the first week or so. We used the miracle blanket until he was about 4 months. If you plan on swaddling for a while the Miracle Blanket is amazing.

Re: Miracle Blanket?
I swaddled using regular receiving blankets for a few weeks and then she was just too big for them.
I then bought the swaddle me's - she broke out in minutes.
Miracle blanket - was truly that...a freakin MIRACLE!!! I will use it until she won't let me use it anymore.
We are going on 4 months and the second you put her in it - she smiles and goes off to sleep.
