Predictibility??
Hi there, Ladies! I'm a Newbie to the forum with a couple of questions.....
DH and I have been TTC since we married in November. I was wondering if anyone could relate to my situation:
Irregular/painful AF since 1st menses... then BCP for 11+ years. Stopped BCP in November, 1st natural AF was January. Since then......NOTHING! It's been 67+ days. (It doesn't even feel like it's coming, either....!)
Is it even possible to get PG at this point, or are DH and I BD'ing "just for fun"??
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Predictibility??
A lot of people end up taking a while to get back on a normal schedule after coming off the pill. I would consult your doctor and see what they say....

Re: Predictibility??
Welcome!
Anything is possible, take a pg test to make sure you aren't pregnant. You said you had painful AF's in the past. Have you seen your OB/GYN since you started TTCing? It might be something you want to talk to him/her about.
As for cycles coming off the pill: I was only the pill for about 1 1/2 years. This was my cycle:
1st Cycle - 35 days 2nd Cycle - 88 days (with the help of provera to force AF) 3rd Cycle - 45 days.
I'm currently on CD23 of this cycle. And I *think* I got my LH surge yesterday which would indicate I'm about ready to ovulate.
Everyone is different... my doctor told me that it can take up to a year to regulate after coming off BCP. Some women regulate rather quickly.

Re: Predictibility??
I did actually see my OB-GYN recently.... he said that if there is no "regularity" within 3 mths from now to go see the RE.
Doesn't that seem dramatic? Has anyone else gone that route?

After going through what I've gone through with an awful doctor the past 6 months, it does seem drastic. My old doctor diagnosed me with PCOS as soon as I started to explain my cycles, put me on fertility meds and said, come back in 3 months if it doesn't work and we'll do testing.
I went for a 2nd opinon and the doctor told me to stop taking the fertility meds, ran more bloodwork on me, did an ultrasound and determined that my reproductive organs are working just fine and I do not have PCOS. She told me use OPKs every day so I can keep track of when I'm ovulating, or if I'm not ovulating.

I don't think this is drastic at all. You are playing with your fertility here...an RE is just someone that can get to the bottom of your issues faster. If you do not get your period for 66 days there is something wrong. It may have a simple fix but you should address it. Good luck
