Jury Duty

I have to go to Jury Duty tomorrow!!! I wish PG women could be excused
Maybe they'll get sick of me when they realize I have to pee every 30 minutes!

Are you kidding me!?! That doesn't seem fair....Call me stupid, but I thought pregnant woman WERE excused!!

I actually got excused because of pregnancy when I was pregnant with my first. I just got a Dr's note, and I was able to be excused.

I could have postponed, but then you are required to return within 6 months and honestly, id rather get it over with now that im 4 months PG rather than later in the pregnancy.
if you have children under 16 you can apparently get excused...too bad i wasnt summoned after i gave birth!!
i was going to ask my dr if there was any medical reason why i COULDNT go, but Val (my dh) thought i was being a baby. Whatever, if i get it over with this week, I dont have to go again for 6 years!!!!

I think you should go to the Jury Duty tomorrow, but if you get selected, just tell them that you are pregnant, and can't sit still for long periods of time. Hopefully, you will get rid of your obligation to show up for Jury duty and won't get called again for years!

I was excused, I just go a doctors note also. Not sure if it was because I was due the end of the month though.

I was excused from Jury duty just a few months ago. The lady there told me that when I give birth if I get another call for Jury Duty since I do not work I can tell them I have a child under the age of 6 and I do not work

I plan on going and letting them know I pee all the time. If they want to stop the trial every 20-30 minutes, then they can keep me.

Also, when you're on the jury, can you bring bottled water? I can't go more than 5 minutes without water. I have a bottle with me all the time.

i called my drs office this afternoon, but she had already left for the day. i have to be at the court house tomorrow at 8:30 and the dr doesnt get in until 10:30 so its too late for me to get a note. i cant believe i didnt just ask her yesterday when i had to go in for my sono (bc of my fall )

oh well ill just have to play the pregnancy card and exaggerate the peeing...if that fails then maybe ill beg for the dr note!!

I was called for grand jury duty in december and went for the postponement b/c the case they called me for was 2 days a week in ctrl islip from december to june, they wouldnt excuse me for pregnancy b/c its not regular jury duty, meaning if you need to eat, stretch or take medication, they allow you to get up. I rescheduled for June at which time i will tell them that i cant go b/c i have an infant to care for.

At 8 months pregnant, I was chosen for a trial 2 weeks later. I was pizzed off too. My first day as a new mom was trying to get in touch with the judge to tell him I couldn't go to court because I gave birth. Finally I left a message with the secretary.

The judge called me back after I was released to personally apologize for the "stupid attorneys on the case", congratulate me & reassure me that he'll be speaking to the attorneys about inconveniencing me.

I feel your pain - im 8 mths pregnant and have to call in the week of the 12th - hoping if i do go in they will let me go.
