But I actually got a little excited going to the bank today to pay our first mortgage payment.
It just makes it feel more real to me since we're still unpacking!

Congratulations!!! The excitement will most likely fade, but enjoy it while it lasts. I would imagine it is exciting in the beginning.
Your story reminds me that when I moved in with DH, we were really excited to go grocery shopping together! That faded fast also, but it was fun at the start.

DH still loves grocery shopping with me for the last 2 years - cause he runs over to the bakery to see if they have any sales and he bags the groceries while I watch what is being scanned.
But yeah, I know this will quickly wear off at some point.
