Is it just me (9/11 Recaps)
I just can't watch them anymore. Every year my husband insisits on watching ALL the specials. And it just kills me to watch them again. Right now he's watching channel 21 that is showing everything minute to minute. It just depresses me to no end.

last year I was at the gym on the treadmill, and the TVs were on showing the family members reading the names. It was awful. I had to leave.

They depress me too but I am so drawn to watching them.
I am hoping I can watch the memorials down here because I only get a few NY stations. I really want to see the memorial where the siblings are reading the names because I want to see who would be reading off my familyfriend/cousin's name and if his sibling would be reading off any names. He was Port Authority and his sister is still with PA so I am not sure if she is reading or not.

I do watch the memorial on 9/11 where they read the names. And yes I bawl throughout the whole thing. But just the specials that show you everything minutte by minute. It kills me!

DH has been watching it non-stop and I cant, its too sad. The peoples emotions is what gets me, and the phone calls they play, I burst into tears!
We had our annual memorial at work...our main office was in WT and we lost some
co -workers...I hate working on Sept. 11th and seeing those at my job who made it....I dont know what to say to them.
There is a "higher up" who received 3rd degree burns, and his arms and hands are still all deforemed after so many surgeries, and I never notice really when I see him daily, and then when 9-11 comes around, I feel like I should say something, and I dont know what.
I pray for all the families and people affected....
I dont think time has made it easier yet...even 4 years earlier.
On a happier note its my 6 month anniversary so I wioll have to use that to get DH to stop watching all the shows...

I can't watch any of the specials. Maybe someday I will. It's not like I need to do anything to refresh my memory, unfortunately.

I usually try to watch for the names and once Corey's name is listed, I start crying and can't do anymore

I haven't seen any of the specials today but just reading this thread and thinking about how I felt that day, watching it all unfold on television like a bad dream, and it makes me want to cry.
I am just glad 9-11 is on a Sunday. I don't know if any of my new students lost anyone in 9-11. We had a moment of silence in school but none of them seemed to be too effected by it.
I remember how shocked I was to see the second plane hit. And then to see the buildings come down--it didn't seem like it was real... and it didn't hit me as to what had happened for a few minutes--once all of the smoke thinned out a bit and you could see that the tower had just collapsed...
Horrible. Those poor people.

I can't. I don't want to sond insensitive but I can't watch it. if I have to watch another memorial or documentary or history channel dramatization I swear I'll spork my eyes out. It's not something I'll ever forget and I just can;t keep reliving it.

I dont watch the recaps either...I am sad enough just remembering it that I dont need to watch the play by play on TV and relive it all over again!

It's not just you, I have a hard time watching them too. I just remember sitting in my office talking to one of the brokers on the phone right as the first plane hit. He was in WT #7. I just relive every emotion.

I already watched the special on the discovery channel (or whatever channel it was) in Aug and I briefly watched one last night. That's it for me. I got up this morning and looked outside and smelled the air and just got that eerie feeling. That was enough for me to bring it all back.

Dh and i cant watch it anymore it just makes me cry! I pray for all of the souls that was lost in that day and today will be a day to remember them all but i just cant watch the recaps.
