CF screening
Hi everyone please pardon my intrusion. I'm not PG, but I'm asking on behalf of a friend who is.
Have any of you and/or your DH/SO had to be screened for this? How common is it for a double carrier situation?
TIA

Re: CF screening
I am going to get this re-done next week as the lab lost my results. The chances of a double carrier can depend on family history and heritage/race, according to my Dr. WebMD page
ETA: It is automatically part of the initial bloodwork in my Drs office.

Re: CF screening
CF, meaning cystic fibrosis, I assume?
When I had my first visit, they did a lot of bloodwork, and my doctor told me that CF was one of the things they were looking for (if both parents are of European descent, they will probably screen for CF.)
Since I wasn't a carrier, my DH was not tested. I don't know anything about double carrier stats.
