I am sorry your experience wasn't a pleasant one. The good news is the baby is healthy!
That doctore sounds like an incompetent a$$. If you go again and the baby is not cooperative try caughing hard while on that table, it usually gets the baby moving. Another good trick is to pock him/her slightly with the screenign wand. A good doctor should be able to find a way to get the baby to cooperate.
Good luck and don't feel sad. The most important thing is that your little one is OK, even if a little shy!

This happened to me 3 times!!!!!!!!!!!
My Mom came to visit and we were planning to go register so I totally wanted to know what color to register for. I didn't get to find out until like 3 months after that!
I hate to tell people not to get their hopes up, but it's the reality. I am so sorry that you didn't get to find out - better luck next time and  thankfully you have a healthy baby!

Sorry the baby didn't cooperate. That doctor doesn't sound very nice, glad it's not your actual dr.

Thanks everyone...you really helped cheer me up. I have to admit that the disappointment is pretty much gone...I am so happy that my little munchkin is doing well. I figure if the baby wants us to know then we will eventually find out. First parental lesson I guess - I can't control these things anymore. Kinda makes me smile to think of it like that though.
I am going to continue to bug my regular doctor to see what she can do.

its ok Ang, as long as the baby is perfectly healthy and you have zero problems it wont really matter to you what the sex is...cheer up!!

I know exactly how you feel. My baby refuses to cooperate. If you plan to ask for another sono, try to request it early don't wait as your pg progresses.
I went for our level II when i was 20 weeks and the tech said he was pretty sure it was a boy, but not to go out and buy anything. then for the next 2 OB visits, my doc says that the HB sounds like a girl. I thought it was an old wives tale but she said they are 75% right in her office when they guess using HR. We go for another sono on friday and the baby has it's legs closed tight. This tech said she wouldn't even try to guess what it was. I'm almost 30 weeks so the baby doesn't have much room to spread eagle. So, I guess DH and will just have a surprise in the delivery room. I'm so annoyed bc I wanted to buy new bedding and know whether I needed to change the nursery to make it more neutral.
