Re: Spinoff from FHM- Taking off ur shoes
I would be taken back if someone asked me to take off my shoes before entering somebody's house.
Im not a child - I'm a grown adult - I think if people are worried about getting their house dirty or babies getting germs - they should just clean afterwards and be extra tidy when the guests leave and buy furniture and carpeting thats guest friendly and baby-friendly (I never understood why people buy white carpets or sofas) and then are afraid to enjoy them without worrying abuot it getting dirty.....
I'm pregnant and would never ask anyone to take off their shoes when entering my house after I have the baby nor before - i think that's just insane.

Re: Spinoff from FHM- Taking off ur shoes
This is funny because this created a HUGE issue in my family. My Husband is from upstate NY and apparently this is kind of a tradition there(I guess because of snow and bad weather?) So at his Moms and my SIL -who lives here now, we have to take off our shoes. I don't think its as common here for some reason but every ti,me I am up there you are constantly taking your shoes off and putting them on. A real PITA if you are wearing boots-especially the way I wear them with mismatched socks! My Mom and Grandma went to SILs house for Thanksgiving last year and i did not hear the end of the shoe thing until at least June!!!

Re: Spinoff from FHM- Taking off ur shoes
Not at all. I don't care if I'm wearing socks, if I'm barefoot I don't like to though. The only time I get ****** is if people ask me and their place is filthy so my socks get dirtier than my shoes would ahve made their already filthy carpet.
We ahve people take their shoes off.. we don't really ask them to, but they follow our lead because we have white carpeting. We didn't ask for it, it came with the apartment. I would never have carpeted an entire apartment in wall to wall white carpeting, but you work with what you're given!
