Another TEMP Question
OK, I see that I am not good with this temping thing but anyhow... I went and got myself a BASAL thermometer which reads to the hundreths. So I wake up this morning and take my temp with both termometers. Reg: 98.0 Basal: 96.03
So I do the basal 2 more times right after each other and I get: 96.58 and then 96.69
HELLOOOOOO, why is this so varied????? PLEASE help me....this is too much for me I think.
TIA- Annie

Re: Another TEMP Question
DON"T TAKE IT MORE THAN ONCE or with THE REG THERM!!! You are driving yourself crazy for nothing :)
Once you move around even stay up more minutes past the time you opened your eyes your temps will rise and vary.
Wake up, do not get of bed, move around the least you can, take your temp, either write down the temp on a bedside notepad or enter it in your chart.
THEN BE DONE!
You will drive yourself nuts if you keep taking your temp over and over again and with more than 1 thermometer
I used to have DH, put the therm in my mouth and write down the temp for me since he got up way before me.
Trust me Take it once around the same time and that's it!

Re: Another TEMP Question
I agree with Sweetness. NEVER take yout temp more than once. The basal thermometer is sensitive enough to pick up any change in temp...
Do it as soon as you wake up- then be done with it.
Overall, you are trying to see a temp pattern of rises and falls over your cycle- not "which temp fits best"

Re: Another TEMP Question
Thank you so much. I did not move much or get out of bed between temps it's just that I am on CD 19 so I figured I should be consistent this month and take it with the same thermometer. ARGH! I can't wait to get AF so I can start a new month with the basal therm. Thanks, I think I do need that book. I am really good with counting days, abdominal pains and CM but these temps are a whole other story

Re: Another TEMP Question
Taking Charge of your Fertility will tell you NOT to measure your temp to the hundredths, the tenths place is more than sufficient.
