Induction

So, I went for my doctors visit yesterday. Due to the blood disorder that I have and the blood thinners that I am on, my hematologist recommended that I speak to my OB about inducing labor (In order to stop taking my blood thinners in order to be able to get an epidural). I spoke with my OB and he thought induction would be a good idea, so this is what is going to happen

When I hit 39 weeks, I will go to my OB for him to check my cervix. If it is soft, I will be induced the next morning. If not, they will give me cervadil and then induce me the next morning. I asked him about the pitocin and he said that it makes contraction worse than natural labor but that I will be able to get the epidural as soon as I want it. So that is good news

Hoping this all goes smoothly. I cannot believe this will all be happening in 13 weeks

Re: Induction

You may want to try to learn some natural techiques for pain managment as the epidural too early can stall labor.

Good Luck.
