You without Me
A few months ago, Joseph & I had a conversation about what would happen if I died. I mentioned he would always have someone to take care of him & that Daddy would get a new wife/mommy for him.
I picked my son up last night at my BIL's (he watches them until I get home). My BIL told me about the conversation they had over dinner.
Joseph was talking about a kid that doesn't have a family. My BIL said "Well someone is taking care of him. Maybe his grandmother?"
Joseph said "No. He takes care of himself. His mommy died." followed by a brief awkward silence where my BIL grapples with what he should say next.
Then Joseph says happily "When my mommy dies, my daddy is going to get a new Mommy. Guess what?! I get to go to the WEDDING!!! I can even be IN the wedding!"
I call DH, "Have you upped my life insurance & not mentioned it?"
Tonight's dinner conversation with me was about the new mommy. He was asking what she would be like. I said "I'm sure he'll marry someone who can cook next time." Joseph said "Yes, & she'll probably be better than you."
Granted, I am not a cook. So I answered "But she won't make meatballs like Mommy." He said "Don't worry. I will tell her they're just as good as yours so she doesn't feel bad." I said "That's really nice of you." He said "Yeah, she'll probably make them better anyway."

I bet ya she would take lousy pictures... they'd probably just be of people's heads and feet

Trust me - within in the next two years this board will be FILLEd with these stories. I can't wait until the LIF babies all start to talk. I'm going to enjoy reading your quips about your babies.
