How old do you think you will be when you retire?
I know DH can retire when he is 45 
But he will probably work for as long as he can...

I would LOVE to retire when I'm 45 but that is not happening...more like 60...FH will be able to retire at 50...

Live March-June in Port St. Lucie Florida, for Mets Spring Training
Live June-December in New York for Baseball, Football and Christmas

NYC teachers in my tier have to work to 62. I am trying to sock away as much as possible now, because I just can't see me doing this that long! People on other tiers can go at 55- that seems more reasonable to me.

DH can retire at 46 but I say over my dead body!
Hopefully by age 62 for me....could probably retire before that but don't think I would want to

It's so hard to figure out how much money we will need to live on in 30 years. I've met with my financial advisor, and sock away a portion of my pay check, but she said it is difficult to accurately predict inflation rates that far in advance. My mom just retired at 61, and I knew her advisors said both she and my father should have over 1 million each in savings and retirement to retire at 61 with a life expectancy of 94 (our family lives long). So it's really hard to say. With my retirement plan with the state, I could retire at 55, but I doubt I would that early.

i plan to retire when i'm 55. i just started a new career, and if all goes as planned,
we will be financially secure enough to be able to travel and enjoy life.

i was hoping for early-mid 20s, but since that already passed.......
honestly, i have no idea.. illprobably always want to work.. but not neesarily GO to work everyday (i guess more in the sense of tracking my investments, and playing that game... that doing the 9-5 thing). but who knows

Oh me too. I can't retire and get a full pension until age 57. I can only imagine what the high school kids willl be like 22 years from now Maybe if I develop another career that I can do part-time in my last years of teaching, I'll retire early.
