Nebulizer?

Just when the colic ended and Drew was finally sleeping in his crib, he caught a cold from his sister (who has croup I might add). His cold turned into coughing and wheezing very quickly and now they have him on a nebulizer 3x a day. He's been on it since Saturday and is only minimaly better - last night was awful! Do any od you have any experince with a nebulizer and how long did it take for you DC to get better? Oh, and today was my first day back at work Chat Icon

Everytime Alex has a cold it develops into wheezing and we have to break out the nebulizer. The doctor told us that the nebulizer treatments don't always work for babies. Fortunately, for us, Alex responds well and the wheezing usually goes away in 2-3 days. It sounds a whole lot worse than it actually is, and take heart, although the first time she got it it was AWFUL, the next few times weren't nearly as bad. Also, ask your pediatrician about the different types of nebulizers. When Alex is at home we use the traditional nebulizer, but when she's in school, we give the daycare teacher her nebulizer inhaler - it's much quicker and easier to use. Chat Icon

Glad I'm not alone. I'll definitely ask about the different types as the mask it comes with doesn't really fit on his face. I've just been holding the opening up to his nose. I hope hope hope this goes away soon.
