If you use a nebulizer?
How do you get masks, medication, etc?
I've always gotten it in small amounts at my dr's office, but I figure there must be a way of buying it. Can I order it from apria or something? Does insurance cover those expenses?

Re: If you use a nebulizer?
my son had to use a nebulizer at one point... We bought it from our Drs office and they said that different insurances cover the purchase, some cover the rental expenses... we have MDNY, that covered the purchase of the nebulizer which came with the mask, tubing, etc., we didn't pay anything for it... the medication was little expensive, like $70 for a box that lasted a week I guess.

I don't use a nebulizer but you can definitely get larger amounts than the sample given at doctor's offices. Your doctor can give you a prescription and you can go at the pharmacy and have it filled. You can even get the nebulizer if you go to a surgical pharmacy and your insurance covers it. Most insurance also pay for the type of medications used with a nebulizer.

I have a nebulizer. I own it and insurance covered it, but I need more masks and meds. I'll try to keep at the docs to give me a script and not just the little tubes

Yes, the doctor can give you a prescription for the medication and you should be able to get it. Most insurances pay for these medications (Albuterol, Xopenex, etc...) Most insurances will also pay for the masks and the saline solution if the medication is not mixed.

My doc gives me the prescription for the meds.
As for the breathing thing, I think you can buy them at the pharmacy.

You can get a prescription for the meds and depending on your insurance either go to a pharmacy or mail away--also you can get the masks at a surgiclal supply type store or a small pharmacy ( like not a chain)

My husband gets prescriptions for these things. He goes through a huge box of albuterol each month, so it's definately something you can get filled at a regular pharmacy.
