I am losing it....
my mind that is. My D&C was almost 5 weeks ago. They sent everything out for choromosome tests and pathology. Last Tesday my dr tells me the results are not back, they take 2-4 weeks and the preliminary tests show some inflammation of the placenta which could indicate that it was a partial molar pregnancy. My baby died at 9w3d. Well, I call today (4 weeks 4 days later) and they are not in, the nurse is such a B***H and says it could take up to 16 weeks!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!? I cannot make it that long not knowing if I can try again, if I have to get the emthtextrate or whatever, if I am running the risk of developing pregnancy related cancer....all these questions, all this waiting, I just can't take much more. Not to mention I still haven't gotten my period. Shouldn't they at least be ordering bloodwork to make sure I am back at 0???? I just don't know if I am getting the care I need from this OB office... I am hysterical crying as I write this, what is wrong with me????
Any doctor recommendations??? I live in Port Jefferson area.

Re: I am losing it....
That is horrible. I am so sorry you are going through this. Have you asked to speak to the dr. directly? I hate speaking to the nurses at the dr's office b/c it seems like they do not always want to help or sometimes they have no clue what is going on. If your dr. does not call you back by either today or tomorrow (and let the secretary know when you leave a message), I would make it very clear you will be leaving their practice and will not be giving them any referrals in the future. it is completely unacceptable what they are putting you through. I am so sorry.
When I lived in Suffolk I used Dr. Escamilla who had an office by St. Catherine's Hospital. I am not sure what the exact name of her group is. I will see if I can find it somewhere and FM you, otherwise their are plenty of girls on here who can most likely recommend a good dr. in your area.

Re: I am losing it....
First , I am so sorry you are going through this.
Follow your gut- if you feel this practice isn't providing the service you want/need/EXPECT, then change offices.
This office is a long term commitment- they will be going through the TTC, PG, and delivery process with you. You must feel 100% confidant in your Dr. and their office staff, or you will NEVER be comfortable.
Regardless of how long it may take- SOMEONE should take the time to explain EVERYTHING to you, then make sure you understand the information. You should NEVER feel like you are being brushed off.
Last week when I went through my scare at the hospital, your situation went through was on my mind the entire time. You have been in my prayers since that you get the closure you need to move on.
Good luck to you

Re: I am losing it....
First, I am so sorry this is happening to you and that you have to endure this kind of treatment. This is my advice: -Contact your current OB's office and DEMAND that you speak with your doctor and office manager. Update them on the situation and let them know how the nurse treated you. That kind of treatment by the nurse is unacceptable, especially when this is such a difficult time for you and you may have medical concerns that need to be addressed. Find out specifically from them how long the tests results take to come back - let them know the discrepancy between what you are originally told and what you are now being told, which sounds absolutely outrageous to me, especially if you may be at-risk of developing cancer.
-I would write a letter to the doctor's office as well. It ALWAYS helps to put eveything in writing. Have them sign off on the letter when they receive it (you may want to hand-deliver it or send it certified return-receipt). Note everything that has transpired in the letter and your communications with the office.
-If you are still treated poorly (and I hope it doesn't even get this far), you may need to file a complaint with one of the major medical organizations that deal with Dr.s and their practices and maybe even the BBB, although I'm not sure if this would apply.
-I would consider switching practices as well. Your health is more important than anything else, and practices like this by a medical facility are unacceptable. I would definitely get a second opinion and find a place that is more receptive to your needs and compassionate. If you do decide to switch, still followup with your current OB, meet with him/her, write the letter, etc.
-As far as recommendations, I don't know of any OB groups in the Port Jefferson area. My group, Preferred Women's Health, is in Woodbury. I like them very much but it may be a hike for you. If you want their information though, I'll be more than happy to give it to you. FM me for details.
-I hope this helps and you feel better soon. Please get a second opinion for your own peace of mind and definitely address these concerns with your present doctor.

Re: I am losing it....
Thank you so much girls. P.S. this is the same woman who when I called because I was spotting snottily replied "Even if you are miscarrying there is nothing that we can do so just see what happens". It's like everytime I get off the phone with her I cry....

Re: I am losing it....
that is a VERY long time. i had my results 2 weeks later and that was when i found out that it was the partial molar. if there is a chance that it could be that - they should definately be watching your blood levels. it takes weeks to get back down to 0 but they should be making sure it is going down and not up.
i would switch...sorry u r going through all of this...
