Heels????
OK - anyone here 1st time pregnant, and still able to wear heels? I have tons of cute shoes with cute heels - some bordering on stiletto, and I'm a bit nervous to wear them.... I havent felt the same in heels in months...
HOWEVER, for some xmas parties, I really want to wear my hot as hell leopard print shoes.... thin heel - VERY high.... I tried them on and I feel a bit wobbly, but I'm not sure if I'm just nervous in them - but - I am up 13 pounds, and my center of gravity is a bit off....
I used to be a ballroom dancer, so I used to be able to friggin lindy hop in stiletto heels, be lifted, AND land on them from the air - you think I can wing a few xmas gatherings in them????
This is them - a horrible image, but I needed to show you guys what I'm talking about - Charles David chiffon leopard print

Re: Heels????
My doctor said chunky heel only and nothing over 2". It has more to do with balance and the fact that as your belly grows your center of gravity is off.
I find I really hold onto the handrails of staircases now as an extra precaution and have to keep reminding my DH NOT to fool around and try to tickle me, or whatever, when he is behind me on the stairs As it is I tripped up the stairs the other day.
At 36, I'm pretty much over the stilletto heel thing anyway. I've been living in my Uggs.

Re: Heels????
I wore high...high...platform shoes to a wedding in my first pregnancy..I was fine..they were alittle bigger in size then Ii normally wore is all. The swelling was a big issue for me so a little bigger worked. I say it u want to get sexy and u feel comfortable walking in them go for it!!!!!!!!!

Re: Heels????
I gave up high heels at around 33 weeks. I was more comfortable in flats and low heels (1.5" chunky heel) at that point.
If I were 23 weeks pregnant and not experiencing swelling or dizziness, I'd definitely be wearing heels to holiday parties. I wouldn't be standing the entire time though.

Re: Heels????
I already have excrutiating pain if I wear stiletto heels. Platforms, wedge & low chunky heels seem to be OK so far. (none of which are my personal preferred shoe, but oh well).

Re: Heels????
Theya re fabulous, but i would be VERY careful. They say our balance is off when you are pregnant--u might not even realize it yet.

Thats what I'm afraid of - my back feels fine, my feet arent swollen, but I'm worried about my ankles giving out - they have been a bit weak lately - maybe I'll bring an extra pair of shoes as back up with me just in case!!!

ETA I have worn boots, and I felt a bit better in those. Extra ankle support I suppose.

Oh yes... I twisted my ankles a couple of time.... That's also one of the reason why I gave up too!!!!

I really wanted to wear my heels - but its not worth me tumbling and breaking my ankle!!! I'll play it by ear....

Re: Heels????
I wore my heels all 9 months with my pregnancy. If you can handle it and are comfy - no problem - do it!
