I had this problem too. I asked the doc for a water pill and he said no. Just keep your feet elevated and drink alot of water. It is all the fluid going down. I couldnt even war socks . I know how you feel

I had this too and it lasted about 3 weeks before I noticed any change at all. I lived in slippers, even when I took the baby to her first doctors appointment. Slowly but surely, they came down. I elevated as much as possible...it just takes time I think.

Re: seriously swollen feet...
I also had this. I drank a ton of water and slept with my feet elevated for relief.

You might need to be resting more and not deal with your inlaw stress. Tell them and DH Dr said to aviod stress and you need to put your feet up.
I was very swollen also after delivering it lasted for a week or so for me.

Re: seriously swollen feet...
Complelty normal...
I remember the girls at work telling me- if you think your feet are swollen now- wait til a few days after you give birth...
I was scared at how huge my feet were- but was told it was normal... I too drank water and kept them elevated...
I remember my mom seeing them and freaking out that in no way it was normal....
It will go away in a few days...

Re: seriously swollen feet...
It's excess fluid that was in your body from the birth redistributing. You shouldn't be on your feet much at this point. Try to rest as much as possible. The fluid does dissipate.

Re: seriously swollen feet...
My ankles were swollen much of the last trimester but they didn't get REALLY bad until I had the baby too. Yes it's completely normal, yes it totally sucks and yes it will return to normal! Mine went back to normal in about 2 weeks (I think, maybe less?) and it did so overnight. It was WONDERFUL to have my nice skinny ankles back!I just wish the rest of me got skinny overnight too!
