Newsday article on Munchausen Syndrome
Did anyone read Sundays Newday article about this?
Did it scare anyone?
I found it so frightening to think that Dr's can basically just "assume" in some cases this is going on.
In the one case the Dr even reccomended all the addtional tests base don sound facts, yet the mom was still found guilty and kids taken away.
I know I err of the side of hypochondria for myself and so I can only assume I will be even more so with my children...I am scared now to think what Dr's really think about over protective or worried moms.

no...neither story was 100% convincing...But I felt so bad for the one mom like you. Seemed liek she just wanted to get to the bottom of her childs illness and instead her kids get taken away. Scary....
Kinda glad I wasnt the only one scared by it.

I totally walked away from the story with a different perspective.
I thought the mom's were nuts and wanted attention especially the mom with the daughter with cerebral palsey. It was like she got used to getting more attention from her first child and she wanted to keep that up.

That mom I got.
It wa sthe mom whos pediatrician told her ( gave her referrals) to specialists and admitted he did so in court and yet they told her she was taking her son to too many Dr's.
I guess Im just a worry wart.
