Ultrascreen done -Updated With PIC
Hi all
Well it went ok. I was a little dissapointed with the place because they had me positioned so I could see NOTHING...and I kept trying to move forward to see, but really couldnt and ya think the girl would have turned the screen even a little towards me
i actually started crying cause I couldnt see anything and she gave me a pillow to help me see at that point..it did nothing...
But Dh said the baby looked great....And even waved at him
We met with the high risk Dr after.
He said my previous Stillborn was basically a bad bad event and he saw no reason to be monitored too closely and doesnt feel Im at risk for another pre-term labor ( SOOO happy about this)
He did though say my Nuchal fold results were "ok but not stellar" ....And he would opt for us to have a fetal echocardiogram(sp?) to rule out possible issues.
He said it was borderline high, not to freak out ( yeah ok)....
But Im trying really hard to stay positive, everything else looked great.
Did anyone else have this echo test?

Re: Ultrascreen done
Okay - positive stuff first.
DH got to see a little wave.
You are NOT at risk for preterm labor.
As far as the echo goes, let's just chalk it up to the doctor being extra cautious right now.
I know it's not the experience you hoped for today, but everything is fine and you'll be extra certain everything is okay with your little bean so you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy worry-free.
Okay, MOSTLY worry-free.
Okay, SOMEWHAT worry-free.
Keep thinking positive.

I 'am ...I really am.
The Dr was more on the side of nothing being wrong, but was afraid to hold anything from us ...
Its just after all we have been through. I just want perfect results for once ya know?
Dh said, well thats silly, we always take the hard way, its never perfect...and hes right.. And it always works out...so Im am staying positive

Donna sweetie I am sorry they didn't position you well - where did you go? But that is totally awesome that the baby waved to DH!!
I think your Dr. just wants to be extra-cautious with you. The echo will give you more information and I bet everything will be jsut fine.
You know kiddo we are buddies in this journey so I am always for ya...!

These doctors today are so lawsuit worried that any little thing has them get us in a craze. Don't listen to him- those tests mean nothing.

Re: Ultrascreen done -Updated With PIC
Donna, first of all GREAT pic of your little peanut
Secondly - I am glad that everything overall went well (though sorry to hear/read that you weren't able to see the baby yourself ) I am SURE that the high risk doc is just being overly cautious in terms of the echo.. and once that comes back good, you will have smooth sailing from hereon out! I don't blame you one bit for being a bit nervous about this, perfectly understandable .. but I honestly feel like this is one of those things where the doctor wants to make certain that things are ok with your little one..
I KNOW that all will be ok and I'm glad that overall things went well today for you and Danny!

That is a great picture! Sorry that the tech didn't make it easier for you to see the little munchkin but so happy to hear that things look good. You are doing a great job! The other test will come back perfect.

Re: Ultrascreen done -Updated With PIC
I had an echo done with Andrew. It was just a really detailed sono of the babies heart.
It was great because I got to see him again and sooo detailed. You can even see the blood flow of the heart
It was amazing. And I got to see his little pee pee I had them confirm it was a boy
I am sure everything will be fine

Try not to worry.... I had a fetal echo with Nate after having him having an irregular heartbeat during a regular OB visit. It's a detailed check of the baby's heart and another chance to see the baby. I'm sure everything will be OK.

Re: Ultrascreen done -Updated With PIC
That stinks that you weren't able to see your little one. I had a few sono techs that were like that, I don't understand why they do that. I had an echo done on my dd, its just a closer look at the heart, not a big deal at all.

Re: Ultrascreen done -Updated With PIC
I'm sure all will be ok! I had a fetal echo, because I had gestational diabetes and it's just an u/s done by a MFM, focusing on the heart. I'm sure it will go well! Good luck!!
