Anyone's Children have Asthma?
I have a dr appt tomorrow for Drew but have been reading a bit about infant asthma and think he might have it. He wheezes after eating and when he cries really hard and also seems to have acid reflux. He was on vent when he was in the NICU and I know this could be related. He is also a terrible sleeper and pretty cranky too!! Oh, and he is always stuffed up. Anyways, if anyone has any experience with this, I'd love to hear it. TIA!

the ventilator definitly could have contributed. your babys lungs will keep maturing for 7 years. the tissue that was destroyed from the ventilator will hopefully regenerate in these 7 years, but in the meantime he will be more prone to upper respiratory infections and asthma. i hope he feels better and you can get some answers from the doctors.

Thanks so much for the info - I had no idea that the tissue could regenerate. I feel like my ped thinks I am crazy but I KNOW something is bothering my baby! I am going to take him to a specialist for a second opinion.
