Re: warming formula....

When either our DS 3 years ago, or now our DD is screaming for a bottle at 3am, the last thing I want to do is boil water to heat a bottle.... we microwave for about 15 seconds. It never gets hot. It gets about room temp, maybe a tad higher. We shake it up after it comes out, so there is no way there could be hot spots. I think most of the paranoia about microwaves came from years ago, when they first came out, and people didn't know about them, or how to use them. It's easy to over-heat a bottle, but if you just pop it in for a few seconds, I don't see the problem.

Re: warming formula....

Hot spots happen when you fill a bottle to the brim and there is no room or little room to shake the bottle....if you leave room its perfectly fine and very time effective!!

What i do is microwave for 15 seconds, shake it up and then pop in for another 10 or so and shake well again. I've done this since he's a week old and never had a problem. I hated the bottle warmer and boiling water on the stove got ridiculous!

Re: warming formula....

I don't warm it, never have - she takes BM/formula at any temperature.

Re: warming formula....

I boil water in a measuring cut or tupperware for 2 mins or until hot and then put the bottle in that to warm it up.
