My friends upstate are obsessed with Orange Theory Fitness. There's one near me, does anyone go? Worth the $$$$?

You can try it for a day, I did and did not like it. Very loud, unable to hear what instructor was saying. Also, they don't help you learn the move or correct you if you're doing the exercises wrong. Proper position etc is important to prevent injury. I did not care for, not for that price. Also, you have to sign up for each class, you cant just show up

I agree with this. Not a fan. You can get the same kind of workout at smaller studios and actually get real instruction and corrections.

I know a lot of people that love it though.

My friend is doing it right now and I can not believe the change in her body. She is petite but she was very round...like still looked pregnant 3 years after having a baby and chubby all over (I'm not trying to be mean or critical...I'm just trying to give you a picture). She's been eating clean and doing the OTF and she looks awesome. Her arms are much more toned, her stomach has flattened significantly and her butt and legs have really toned. She probably looks the best she has ever looked. And she's in her 40's. The downside is its expensive.

But you can get these results with any exercise program....The key to your friends results is the fact she is eating clean! Add in the exercise (really any consistent program) and you will see results!

This exactly. And this is what so many people don't understand, so they end up overpaying for not the greatest programming....though at the end of the day, whatever you are going to be constant with and committed to holds a lot of value. But it is totally the diet change that gave her the results you're seeing, so if Orange Theory inspired her to make that change, then there's value in that, ya know?

I agree.

I think if you're at the point where you are truly committed to getting in shape and changing your habits you will be successful, regardless of the workout plan you use.

Exactly. I used to use Jillian's Michael's 30 day shred videos in my living room for a total cost of $9.99 for the DVD and 20 minutes per day and I got awesome results too.
I'd save my money and put it towards getting a trainer to show you how to work out properly and then use that knowledge going forward.

This is all true but she was eating clean for over a year. She initially started doing a work out program at a gym...I can't think of what it was called right now... But she wasn't seeing results like she wanted. Then that gym closed so she found OTF. She gives OTF credit because seeing her heart rate motivates her and she thinks the program itself is good for her with the rowing and running and believes the type of work out is what caused such a change in her shape.

Yeah could be.
I really can't speak because my idea of exercise these days is getting up from the couch to go get my ice cream from the freezer.

OTF?

I think people like OTF because its a group doing all the same exercises at one time, and yes you can see yourself on the monitor, but it wasn't for me. TRY it once, they let you and see for yourself.

Re: OTF?

I just started. I like it because I don't push myself as much as they push me there. But that could be true for anywhere.

OTF?

I love OTF! I saw great progress in just a few weeks. I have always been lean but the program helped me get more definition. I do not find it too loud. Give it a try.
