What are your worst fears about the Trump admin?

Let's try to keep it reasonable.

What are your biggest fears and what things are you NOT afraid of?

I'm actually *not* afraid of a nuclear incident or some giant war.

I'm concerned about freedom of the press. I'm not pleased with his doings so far on that matter, including dodging the team that follows him for transparency.

Concerned over education.

Concerned over healthcare. Still waiting to see what the plan is. Are people going to be without insurance? We still don't know.

Right now im afraid of the divide I see among people. Im afraid of Trumps and his followers paranoia. Im afraid of how devout his followers are. Im also afraid of all of his cabinet picks

In no particular order:

1. Freedom of the press being curtailed under his administration. I feel like there are more than a few journalists I really respected who are showing themselves as spineless.

2. A trade war and the impact it will have on many aspects of our lives, mainly financial. I feel like Trump wants to pick a fight and from his tweets, I think this will be the one. At least I hope so- I wish I had the same confidence that he won't cause some kind of nuclear incident- not a war- but so many people worked so hard at nonproliferation, and he's casually upending it. Or threatening to.

3. The environment- between his EPA pick and comments about Chinese hoaxes- I feel he has no respect for science and we may not be able to undo the damage.

4. The impact of killing Obamacare and how people will face death and/or financial ruin.

I am afraid of:

His cabinet picks ESPECIALLY DeVos (God help our children!!)

His lack of interest in our environment

His inability to control his mouth and actions

His inability to rationally and thoughtfully respond to situations. This especially frightens me when I think about his dealings with other world leaders and nations

His inability to accept responsibility for anything other than the inflated, half truth stories he perpetuates himself

His ability to manage and grow our economy when, despite being a wealthy businessman, he has had many failed business dealings, he's claimed bankruptcy, and he's defaulted on payment for many who have worked for him

His Twitter account, he needs to shut the fcuk up and have even an ounce of grace and dignity as our leader

His lack of knowledge regarding foreign relations and affairs

His attitude that rules do not apply to him................he doesn't want to walk away from his business, he wants to appoint his son-in-law as his adviser, he doesn't want to do anything that is expected of a President

His pompous, self serving attitude...........he's not in this to help us middle Americans, he just wants the ego boost

His complete disregard and attitude towards the media, it's pretty despicable

His inability to cope with anything negative being said about him, he's entirely too thin skinned and immature

Truthfully, there isn't much I am NOT afraid of. I think the next 4 years are going to be a horrid sh!tshow and sadly, it's all of us regular, average Americans that will feel the brunt thanks to every poor decision, poor appointment, and poor action this man will take.

I am afraid for homeland security. I have always thought that him getting elected would make us a target for many groups. That's about all I am truly afraid of but that's a pretty big one.

I'm not sure what I would have said before today. But as of today they've been realized, as my 3 year old had to evacuate his (Jewish) daycare due to a bomb threat. The culture that has been created as a result of his rise to his current position has allowed for this to happen.

Just sticking to "reasonable fears" (weird term to even have to use.... )

Losing ACA without a replacement. Many people will lose health insurance, and many will literally die from this. Plus, it is estimated to raise costs (both insurance costs, taxes, and lower economy) for everyone (except the super rich)

Losing many Freedoms of the Press.

His Cabinet picks are scary. Many of them have spent the last several years, on record, working against the departments they are slated to head.

I really do think the economy will take a big hit for most of America. I'm sure CEOs will make out great, and anyone who can buy the right stocks will be OK, but the rest of us will lose money over the next 4 years. I see us going into a Recession again.

Homeland Security. I think we will be a much bigger target, especially with random tweets going out, disparaging anyone who slighted Trump in any way.

It's sad and scary to think that his multitude of conflicts of interest are relatively low on my list of concerns.... I'm hoping that when he makes all sorts of policies and deals to line his own pockets, that the American public will get some of the crumbs that fall...

LBGT rights. I see a lot of rights that have been hard-fought, being taken away over the next 4 years.

There's more, but I lose track of all of the things I'm legitimately worried about....

Plain and simple his extreme personality, narcissistic disorder. The fact that my kids are able to control themselves better than the leader of our country. The fact that he gets all twisted about an SNL episode. Hes going to make a mockery of our country and overall Im just sick about it.

Concerned about alienating our allies.

Concerned about the cost of living. DH is retired and on a fixed income. I work for the benefits.

To some extent, Fair Trade Act.
It's my business to export and this has the potential to impact my job.

The destruction of public education, especially for students with disabilities

Loss of Healthcare for many Americans

The fact that foreign governments meddling in our election is being swept under the rug giving the green light for this behavior to continue in future elections

Loss of protections for lgtb Americans

Opening protected lands and national parks to drilling and mining

Turning a blind eye to climate change altogether

The deepening divide among our country continuing

There are more but some have been said already.

Admittedly, that would have been a concern with any Republican president.

I pray that the name-calling, harassment, and complete lack of respect for each other's viewpoints ends.

Trump supporters need to know that not everything he says/does is wonderful.

Trump adversaries need to know that not everything he says does is horrible.

I don't know what he can/will do yet as President. I am reserving judgment on that - keeping my fingers crossed and praying for the best.

That basic rights will be trampled on and certain groups will take 10 steps backwards instead of continued progress.

The fact that he doesn't appear to give a shit about anyone or anything. That he has no respect for the office he is about to enter. He is classless. narcissistic, self serving and dangerous.

I fear everything that he is near in the next four years. And yes I say four years as I honestly do not think I could live in this country if I thought he would serve 8.

I'm horrified that he will be choosing one or more SCOTUS justices. His tag lines about draining the swamp and people's claims that he is shaking things up because he's not a politician have not been reflected in his staffing choices. He appears to be towing the GOP line, and I worry that we will wipe away decades of social progress with lasting impact since SCOTUS justices are in for life. This could transform the court.

I don't know that I am afraid of a "big war" as the OP said, but his foreign policy interactions have seemed dangerous and haphazard. The idea of simultaneously 1. promoting nuclear proliferation, 2. baiting crazy dictators with Tweets and flip comments to reporters, and 3. alienating and disparaging both NATO (whose alliances give us leverage that helps us to AVOID military intervention) as well as the intelligence community: this is a recipe for disaster.

His tax plan. Again, towing the republican line, I think this will be a total robber-baron administration where he intends to balloon the deficit to shovel money at rich people, and we will see both income inequality and national debt skyrocket. We can already see he is a pay-to-play guy, with his private tables and meeting for donors at the inauguration. His cabinet is stocked with billionaires who helped finance his campaign but are woefully under-qualified. Brace yourself for the big rip-off.

I am REALLY worried about Medicare and Social Security. The GOP majority in the Senate and the House plus a republican president leave little in place to protect these vital programs, and there is something terrifying about leaving the elderly, when they are too sick and frail to work, on their own without these supports. Paul Ryan's plan to give them vouchers and wish them well on the insurance market just seems so heartless to me since there is no guarantee that the vouchers will keep pace with the cost of that insurance at a time in life when working more to cover the gap is not an option. Trump has vowed to protect these programs, but that's the thing with this guy: nothing he says means anything. He spews incoherent lies on camera and denies those comments the next day while people play back the footage and then all his nutty supporters start crying about the "liberal-biased media." Certainly Congress has been making moves that seem to indicate their confidence in his cooperation on stripping and privatizing these programs.

I pretty much agree with what everyone has said. I'll just point out the ones I'm most concerned with.

-his foreign policy. He's already making other countries angry. He made Germany quite angry this week with an asinine interview he gave (said Brexit was a good idea, said other countries should leave the EU, called NATO obsolete, threatened to put a 35% tariff on German cars because Germans do not drive enough Chevys). One person in government got quite angry and snapped back that the US should make better cars, which it should. But my point is things are already starting to get strained. Merkel has already said she will start out trusting, but she does not know how long that will last. What a great start!

-saying that NATO is obsolete is horrifying, especially since the US is supposed to be leading the West since 1945. Where's that all going now?

-his idiotic influence and how it has affected his followers.

-more right wing politicians coming into power.

-healthcare. I won't be able to move back if ACA is cut and especially the pre-existing conditions clause is cut.

-his Supreme Court picks.

-his lack of critical thinking skills and him making bad decisions.

I don't even know where to begin. I know it's reasonable to be nervous any time a new administration takes over, but this one is just of epic proportions

I'm concerned that his tweets and demeanor have cast the US as a fool in the world forum.

However, I'm not afraid of him as I am of:

The influence of Turmp on the actions of the cabinet and their fervor in undoing all of Obama's policies and executive actions.

A majority Republican led Congress that will beat down on Dems' attempts at passing meaningful progressive legislation.

Appointments that seem to install the 1% to run this country.

Court-packing, where the repercussions are felt for generations.

Empowering those who feel that their President backs their hatred, bigotry, racism etc.

So, not so much the man, but what he brings with him.
