If you're anti Trump come in - no debate please
Hi all,
I was going to bump Paramount's Pantsuit thread but I didn't because many were anti both Trump and Clinton and I thought we'd start fresh (post election) anyway.
I was - mercifully - out of the country for a few days and am trying to catch up.
I've joined a couple of FB groups and am working on taking concrete action through the local Pantsuit chapter. I also have an idea for a non profit but I want to see how things shake out as I don't want to duplicate efforts.
Does anyone want to share what actions they are taking to counteract what is to come? There are lots of vulnerable groups that will need our help.

So far, donating to ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
I've joined some FB groups but it doesn't seem like there's much organization on LI. I'd be interested in joining/helping with something that is inclusive and socially aware. As a Jew and a woman, I feel that I belong in at least one minority group that could be adversely affected, however I also think there are many others (people - and women - of color especially) who have more to worry about, particularly in the immediate future, and I want to make sure that anything I become involved with is aware of and sensitive to that.

I've joined some FB groups but it doesn't seem like there's much organization on LI. I'd be interested in joining/helping with something that is inclusive and socially aware. As a Jew and a woman, I feel that I belong in at least one minority group that could be adversely affected, however I also think there are many others (people - and women - of color especially) who have more to worry about, particularly in the immediate future, and I want to make sure that anything I become involved with is aware of and sensitive to that.

The LI chapter of pantsuit nation has a few meetings in the works (one this Sunday) and is organizing buses into the city for the upcoming march there.

To start I am going to set up small monthly donations to ACLU and SPLC, probably PP too if my budget allows- I am not working at the moment.
When I get home later I am going to call my senators and congressman to let them know my feelings about Stephen Bannon- though all 3 are Democrats. But I still want to let them know.
I am in the Hudson Valley chapter of PSN which is great but it's also such a huge spread out area. Not sure if anything will come from that. NYC is so far, I am not sure how practical it is to go there to protest, etc but I am open to it.

I saw something on facebook about how if you donate to PP you should donate in Pence's name and give his address so he gets the certificate.

Yes - Just do a search for PN Long Island Chapter and it should come up. If not let me know. It'll prompt you to message the admin with some basic info. You have to be part of the main group first. Once they confirm they'll send you an invite.

Just tried to make a donation to Planned Parenthood in the name of Governor Mike Pence their system was overloaded and couldn't accept my credit card at this time. Guess a lot of people had the same thought. Love this idea though.....will keep trying.

Awesome, thank you. I did not get a chance to make phone calls today, so I will do it tomorrow. I do not want Bannon anywhere near the White House. Just saw a segment on Rachel Maddow and he is scary.

Great idea! I am in the 3rd district. I guess i should call Steve Isreal's office(?) and get his number on speed dial with all this insanity going on.
While I'm not a member of the Pantsuit club (team Bernie here), I think we rational people need to join forces now and mobilize against all this horror.
I'm involved in certain progressive groups that are planning some upcoming local meetings, protests, marches, etc. if anyone is interested in getting involved with that, let me know.
