when life is going sideways...
when things are out of whack and you need to do something special for yourself, what usually does it for you?
how do you make yourself feel special?
how do you treat yourself?
was having a conversation last night, and was surprised at the different answers. would love to hear what LIFers have to say on the subject.

first, i clean one room in my house (usually the living room) and make sure everything in sight is neat.
then, i make myself some tea and get my favorite cookies, and pick a new book and sit down in my reading chair and just read for 2 hours uninterrupted.
This usually involves kicking out DH and DS for the weekend so that a) the room stays clean b) they are not making noise while i read.

when life is going sideways...
Usually I take a day off work and goof around the house by myself (cleaning, watching TV, knitting, etc). However, lately, I've gotten into Pokemon Go and I've been going to parks to walk around for a few hours. I've also been going into the city to go to museums by myself. It feels decadent to be able to wander the city by myself - eating wherever I want, sit in the park and people watch, etc.

Bubble bath
I've been into the adult coloring books for stress relief.
Also, a good workout always gets me out of a funk. If you can still think about your problem during a workout, you're not working out hard enough. LOL

when life is going sideways...
Lately, with a 4 month old and a 3 year old and a husband who works crazy hours just to barely make ends meet, "treating myself" consists of things like have an extra minute to put conditioner in my hair if the baby isn't screaming while I'm in the shower, and going to bed at 9:30 pm so I can "sleep when the baby sleeps" and not feel like a total zombie the next day  luckily dh gets my 3 yo to bed so I'm able to do that!!
