Salary question
Those in the legal field, what would you say the average salary on Long island is for a personal injury, medical malpractice attorney who is a partner in a small, 2 person practice? Settling a debate.

Salary question
Geez - I wouldn't even know how to quantify something like that. I mean, there's too many variables, is the salary tied to settlement fees, bonuses, etc.

Salary question
Totally depends on what cases the person is bringing in and how big the settlements are, personal injury you get a 1/3 - if it's your own practice otherwise you get 1/3 of 1/3 so would depend on too much

Salary question
It can vary but in general LI attorneys do not make nearly what you would make in they city.

What as a PI attorney you can make tons more if you have a practice that settles big medmal cases so it really depends

Very true, salary is vastly different on LI. I have no idea what they make but I would take a wild guess and say between 150k and 200k in a small 2-person LI practice.

Salary question
I should have worded it a little.differently. Would it be very.unusual to be making 500 k or more in the scenario I described ?

I think that would be unusual. Maybe half that, at the most?

Re: Salary question
Partners in small law firms may not be drawing down a salary as most people typically think. I worked for a solo in law school and it was based on monthly revenues and the partners would split the pool into 1/3rd or 1/2s depending on their Partnership Agreement or management structure. So the answer is - it varies.
Also, when it comes to plaintiffs side PI, the locational difference between NYC and LI is probably not as severe. Cellino & Barnes has multiple locations all over the NYC area but I am sure their partners are making the same income whether they work in Melville or Manhattan. Their entry level attorneys start out in the $60K range last I heard (circa 2011-2012 when a friend turned down a job offer from them).

Re: Salary question
My boss is a solo personal injury car wreck attorney (I'm his associate) and makes over 1.5 mill a year net. Really depends on how much business you have.
