Vaca packing help

Going on a cruise to Bermuda that leaves from NJ. How much would you pack? Don't know if what I'm thinking is ridiculous or spot on.

Eta: it's 7 days

How long? Bring a few dresses, a pair of long pants and a few shirts. immalways cold so I make sure I have a cardigan or a zipup hoodie with me so I don't die during dinner when the AC is blasting. 1 pair of flip flops and a pair of sandals. Sneakers if you plan on going to the gym. Do not pack a pair of shoes for every night of the week lol

7 days whoops. I'll edit the original post to say that.

That's all you'd pack? It seems like nothing!!!

How many bathing suits?

2. I wash my bathing suit at the end of each day and hang it out to dry. Then I alternate. I'm going to Portugal next week for 10 days and I'm bringing 2 bathing suits.

For the beach I wear cover ups or cotton dresses. I always pack light. If it wasn't for my hot rollers taking up so much space I'd use a duffle bag for a 7day cruise. for a 10-20 day trip I bring a large suitcase and fit everything on one side and the other side is the stupid hot rollers and whatever goods I bring back.

The days of packing 10 pairs of shoes and 20 dresses for the sake of having options are long gone.

Haha. I was thinking 3 suits so that way I definitely have one that is dry. Or if we do the pool during the day and the hot tub or something at night, I'd need 2 suits that day, and who wants to put on a wet suit even if you are going to get it wet 10 minutes later?

Re: Vaca packing help

Bathing suits don't take up a lot of room at all so I always bring extras. 2 extra suits aren't going to make a dent in your suitcase space.
I don't wear pants. ..especially in the summer and I don't wear jeans in warm weather so I bring a bunch of dresses for dinner/night time and more casual dresses for day wear

I'm an over packer, so I can't help you, but bring a power strip. I always find there aren't enough outlets in the cabin.

I pack very minimal and re-wear things. We have gone on them so many times we figured out what works for us. When we first went we would bring 7 of everything but realized it was a waste when we came home with all this unworn clothes or clothes that we wore for 2 hours and were done with.

We find we're only wearing things for 3 hours so there is no reason to bring one for every day. For example, we get ready for dinner and then after dinner go back into tshirt or bathing suit. So, considering I've only worn that shirt 3 hours, I'll wear it a second time later on in the week. Wait staff is not keeping track of what you are wearing or care that you wore the same thing twice.

I'll usually bring:
2 bathing suits
2 cover ups

General wear:
2 shorts
1 pair of jeans
3 tshirts

Dinner
1 pair of black pants
3 dress shirts

Sandals
Slippers
Dress shoes
Sneakers (depending on excursions scheduled)

It depends on what cruise line your going on. NCL is very casual so you'll be fine in a bathing suit and coverup during the day or shorts and a top. For night, capris or a skirt with a nice shirt. For RCL one of the restaurants is a bit fancier so it's dress pants or a nice dress and men need jackets - just for one restaurant though.

I normally pack: 3 bathing suits and coverups, 2 shorts, 3 Tshirts, 3 capris and 7 tops, a pair of flip flops and a pair of flats.

Couple of bathing suits (3 suits don't take up any space so you're good there)
Couple coverups
3 pairs of shorts
3 t-shirts
Couple tanks
1 pair black pants
1 or 2 pair dressy capris
3 dressy tops
1 or 2 skirts
Maxi dress
1 fancy dress if there's a captain's dinner and formal pics

Flip flops (I also buy a pair of cheap flip flops just for hotel shower before any trip)
Sneakers for excursions
1 pair fancier heels
1 pair neutral wedges and sandals
1 sweater

Optional: 1 romper, 1 pair dressy shorts for evening

Thanks! I actually have a cube with an outlet on each side, so maybe I will throw that in my bag.

this is OVER packing?! I feel like this is half of what I want to pack! I don't think I could wear the same thing for dinner so many nights, in part because I am a clutz and would be worried about spilling all over myself.

I was thinking that I would bring like 5 dresses I could wear for dinner, a couple pairs of shorts, a bunch of tanks, a couple day dresses/skirts, and 3 bathing suits and coverups.

This doesn't sound like too much to me. Maybe throw in a pair of pants or.capris.and a couple dressy tops if you wear them and you're good.

3 bathing suits, 4 pairs of shorts (2 jeans, khaki, and a pair of jersey material), 4 cover ups/sun dresses, a pair of jeans, a pair of dress pants (usually white or black skinny capris), 1 fancy dress (NCL has a formal evening), 4 or 5 tank tops, 1 or 2 t-shirts, 3 dressier tops (for dinner/nights out), 1 pair of flip flops, 1 pair of nicer sandals, a pair of heels (for the dress night),1 sweatshirt, and a cardigan or two.

I agree with you. I don't like repeating outfits for dinner.
I'd bring more dresses

Re: Vaca packing help

According to most responses I way overpack!

Since its a cruise and you don't have to pay to fly bags I would bring whatever you want!
I usually try to figure out what we plan to do and pack accordingly. I bring different clothes for each day/dinner. Most of the time even if I wear something for a short time I do wear most of what I pack.

Haha that was my first thought - I can go crazy with the packing! But then I realized that I would have to fit it all into the cabin, so...

Re: Vaca packing help

I'd bring:

2 bathing suits/2 cover ups
3 dresses/rompers
1-2 pairs of shorts
2 nice tops
2 tank tops/t shirts
1 cardigan
1 sweatshirt/zip up hoodie
1 pair of flip flops
1 pair of dressier shoes
1 pair of sneakers/1 set of workout clothes

and then I bring like every pair of underwear I own lol. No idea why I do this but I can't help it.

A trip like that you spend most of the time in a bathing suit and cover up, or a sundress. You really don't need much.

ETA - I have no problem repeating outfits. I'm lazy like that. I pick the three or four most flattering and comfortable outfits and rotate.
