another "how much to give" question... but slightly different
i mentioned earlier this summer that i've reconnected with an old friend and she's invited me to her daughter's quinceanera.
i got the invite.
it's a DOUBLE quinceanera. the other girl is my friend's niece, so i know her mom (my friend's older sister).
honestly, i can't afford two large financial gifts.
i'm working really hard to get out of debt and i have another quinceanera just a month after this one... and a wedding and a bridal shower, etc, etc.
how little can i give to each girl without looking like a loser?
i know, i know, give what you can afford... but this is a little more complicated than that... and i'll spare you the details of why appearances matter in this situation.
thanks.

In that case I might opt to give the girls a gift instead. An alex and Ani bracelet?

I have NO idea what a "quincinera" is...
But if you do not know the other girl well, I would give her a small gift and the girl you do know well whatever gift you were planning.

I agree with this suggestion.

Just because they decided to group the parties together (to save on money?) doesn't mean you should be required to give double gift. Just like the typical its not your fault the bride and groom are paying 350 a plate. Give what you were going to, and if you want to be nice give a 20 dollar token gift to the other girl. But I'd bet the other girl and mother wouldn't even realize if you didn't give anything.

I agree with this. You were invited for the daughter not the neice. Give what you were planning for the daughter and give the neice something small.

I do not think you need to give equal gifts in this case. I would think it is like a sweet sixteen and 100 is more than enough for the child you are close to. I would give something in the 50 range as a gift not cash to the other girl.

I like the idea of an alexa and ani bracelet which you can find around 25 for the one girl...
the one you know more go with like 75.

I would not get the other one anything.
You don't know her.
She doesent know you.
You were NOT invited to her party. You were invited to your friends party.
IMHO give your person the gift and the other one nothing. Either that or get an Alex and ani bracelet.
But you don't owe or are obligated to give the second girls anything. You were not invited to her party. And you should not be obligated because the parents wanted to save money.

I don't think you need to give anything to the girl you don't know. She doesn't know you and didn't invite you. I would give $100 to your friend's daughter only.
