Town of oyster bay housing code enforcement
Has anyone been successful with reporting an illegal apartment? I normally wouldn't care but this house has 3 different apartments out of the house. It's a legal mother daughter but the third apartment is a horror with questionable ppl in and out all day. I can go on and on with stories. The owner lives in Florida.

My parents did. They kept calling and calling and following up. You have to be on top of them but they came by and the people had to be kicked out.

I think legal mother daughter requires the owner to live there

Make sure you report it soon, town of oyster is cutting 150 jobs, on top of 100 retirements that are not being replaced. so things are going to get even tougher for residents in getting through and getting things done in the town.

How anonymous is it? I know you are required to put your name down but I don't want them to know ... Is it truly anonymous?these days Ppl are crazy and you never know I don't need any retaliation.

The Town of Oyster Bay will NOT tell the homeowner who complained.
You do have to put your name down, but thats just so that they can verify that you aren't just some nut. But they will NOT tell the homeowner who the complaint came from.
and a PP was right... a LEGAL mother/daughter requires the homeowner to live in the house.

DH officially sent a letter to Mangano to report a house that kept being rented. Way too many tenants. Suspected drugs. Code enforcement came. Everybody evicted. Owner did it again with new tenants. We reported and our neighbors too AGAIN. Lasted a few years but owner got tired of it I guess. The house was out for sale eventually and the RE agents said it was a pain for the owner, she was just tired it it. What a joke, she was cashing in as much as she could. She had many houses like that. At the open house we went inside the house. 6 bedrooms, beds EVERYWHERE. Keep reporting.
