Going to the beach- bring anything life changing?

Alcohol!!!!!

I never went crazy bringing stuff. I only ever added in an umbrella for shade to my normal beach gear.

Depends on who you're taking

If it were just me: Coffee. Towel. Magazine

If it's Kids: Tent. Sportbrella. Blanket. Towels. Sunscreen. Baby powder. Diapers. Beach toys. Hats. Sunglasses. Water activities. Cooler. Sandwiches. Snacks. More snacks. Water. More water. Fruit. Maybe bouncy seat if you're taking a baby.

I swear I think I once brought our couch with us once our kids started going to the beach....

+1 for the alcohol. I'm not sure why I never thought to bring any in the past but I have been this summer and it's made my beach experience so much nicer. LOL.

Are you allowed to drink on the beach? There are signs at mine that say no alcohol but do they really enforce it?
Or do you guys sneak it in- like in a water bottle that looks like something else?

Mine has signs all over but we literally sit next to the lifeguard stand and no one has said anything. Unless you're like.. drinking straight from a tequila bottle, I can't see them freaking out. LOL. I usually pour my beers/drinks into a cup though, just bc I'm paranoid. Chat Icon

LOL. I was doing this on vacation this weekend but not because drinks weren't allowed- because I was making my own in the room to avoid the $11 drinks without a lot of booze in them that they were serving on the beach/by the pool!
I usually go to the beach at home at 830 am and only stay until around 12:30 or so, so I guess that is why it never crossed my mind. Chat Icon

No, you aren't' "allowed" at most beaches, but that's what red solo cups are for Chat Icon

I was in Spring Lake recently and they wouldnt even let us bring our bottled water on the beach because they said people fill them with vodka. It was 90 degrees! We were like uh so I guess we're just supposed to dehydrate out here Chat Icon

A game changer I love is a portable table that rolls up. So much easier to eat lunch and snacks with that.

That's a bit extreme! I mean they could have asked you to open them so they could smell them if they were that worried they were vodka.

Mesh laundry bag (1.99 at Walmart) to hold all the boogie boards and the umbrella. They are huge and drawstring closed. Easy for the kids to carry.

Table that slides onto the umbrella pole. Great for putting sunblock, drinks, etc. on, love it!

I don't ever go to the beach without alcohol. Lol We used to bring red solo cups, but I recently got us these awesome stainless steel cups and they keep our beers/drinks nice and cold.
