Semi inground pools
Has anyone had one installed? What is a ballpark figure for something like this? Also how is the maintenance aspect? Easy or hard to keep up with? Thanks!

Re: Semi inground pools
We are getting quotes now For a 15 x 24 it's about 10k installed WITHOUT equipment (filter, vacuum, stairs) we already have all that. Can't speak on upkeep too much. Vacuuming is easy I do that quick before kids go in We use a solar cover a lot and that helps keep the pool clean I don't think my husband spends much time doing much on it

Semi inground pools
We paid $10K for the complete pool package and installation (semi-in ground, 15 X 30), 4 years ago. We have an automatic vacuum and the chlorine is a cartridge that goes in the filter that only has to be changed about once a month. Both of those were part of the package. Upkeep isn't bad at all. We also use a solar cover.

What company did you use?

We used Dunrite. They were great to work with (we did have a little problem during installation - which they subbed out, but they corrected it immediately and made up for it with free chemicals and other pool stuff. Also we were told they no longer use that subcontractor)

Try The Pool Factory. The factory showroom is NOT close, its in Brooklyn, but worth the savings. I'm a very happy customer as are many of my friends. Paid half of the above quotes for a salt water pool, all equipment included. We also used their recommended installer.

Semi inground pools
My parents have a semi unground with a hopper liner. It's great with the kids bc it still has a big shallow end but has the deep part for when they're older. They changed over to a salt water filter a few years ago and maintenance has been way easier. It takes very little to get it balanced at the beginning of the season and stays perfect all summer. They have the robotic vacuum so it's very little work.

Sounds great! Thanks, I need to look into advantages of salt water as well. I'm clueless.

Semi inground pools
Just be careful that you get a pool that is actually made to be installed as a semi-inground. Many places will sell you an above ground pool and say they can install it as semi in-gound. I've heard that that can lead to a lot of problems.
