Saw a young girl (21?) today on line at dunkin donuts while waiting to get my coffee, she's taking a d!ckfaced selfie of herself trying to look all cute and sexy while standing on line and posting on social media while the lady is trying to take her order. I wanted to smack this ********* in the head with one of those bags of coffee beans they keep out front and have her take a selfie of that. People have lost it. To me, that's even more disrespectful than standing there texting or talking on the phone while someone is waiting to take your order.

I think people who get up in arms over social media must know a ton of assholes and keep them in their lives for some reason. You can block , unfriend or unfollow (but stay friends) with your people without removing them on most platforms.
I enjoy it and love seeing photos and stuff of people I know. Maybe I'm not into xyz but they are, and that's cool. I like seeing where people go and whatever they share.
I've found it to be a great resource in my community, too.
It's not supposed to make u angry or hate everyone. If you are, you're doing it wrong (or need to get rid of people lol)

I also don't understand how some ppl can be so anti social media but then be so into forums like this?!?

I would miss it, a lot, unfortunately I communicate with many people mostly via FB, w busy lives it's easier to keep up w friends and even family who live far away

It's the difference between going to a neighborhood backyard party with some friends, and going to La Tomatina, the annual tomato throwing festival in Spain.

I love social media!! Makes it so easy to filter out the idiots. When people post ridiculous nonsense that they haven't even bothered to verify or fact check, or spew racist/sexist crap, it's like they are wearing a big neon sign above their heads
These days it's so easy to pick and choose what you do and don't see - what you do and do not "follow." Makes me  when people complain about what others post when it's so simple to just remove those users from your feed!

True to a point but there are still some ppl that brag, bully, give "good" opinions, etc., in that way this type of forum is no different from FB, especially when ppl know who a poster is even though they don't have a pic of themselves as their avatar, there's really no privacy there.

I love Instagram & Facebook so I'd really miss those. I don't have Twitter but DH loves it. I think if used properly, social media is a wonderful thing & I wouldn't want to see it go.
