Spinoff to FB friend post- how often do you delete"friends" on FB

I never delete anyone. I am sure people have deleted me but I don't have the time to really notice.

My question - do you ever delete people? If yes what is the reason (besides the obvious falling out etc).

I have some "friends" on FB that I truly don't care to has a FB friend. But is it rude to delete them?

What about family? Family you don't talk to? What's the etiquette ??? Lol

Pretty much never. I've been deleted by some people lately, and I'm sure I've been unfollowed by more because I share/like a lot of political posts lol. No skin off my back lol.

ETA: I rarely unfollow but I did unfriend a family member (very distant) because he was posting some seriously racist stuff that made me sick.

I've wondered this as well. There are people I'm fb friends with who NEVERRRR like/comment on my posts. Ever. Nor do I chat with them (ever) lol. Makes me feel like-- what's the point?

I very rarely delete people. I just unfollow people. I unfollow a lot of people, actually. I just like to see travel pictures, news articles, recipes, and cats or dogs. If someone posts too many pictures of their kids, house, themselves, or car, I just unfollow. I'm not interested. I can just go and look at their page if I want.

I don't post very much. I put up some political stuff, but not much, since I post about once a month. I mainly use FB for reading.

I hide first then when I wonder what happen to that person and check, I delete them. I have a lot of people hidden at the moment because of the election. but I've deleted people because I was sick of the 2847 selfies and tit shots daily, Looking for compliments. They go.

I've deleted and blocked a few people. One was a friend who I had to break off the friendship with. Others were a couple of people who were gaining info about a friend from my page.

I'm more of an "unfollower" than a "defriender" for the most part.

Although I noticed just a couple of weeks ago that a few people who friended me around the time when I was diagnosed with cancer have since deleted me. And that's a weird feeling, because I don't know what their intentions were with following me through the tough times (those of you who know me on FB know that I was very open and honest about that time period)...and these were people who I had mutual friends with and stuff. So like...you friended me when I was suffering but now that the majority of my posts are not about the misery of chemo and doctors appointments and surgeries, I'm just not as interesting? I know - I KNOW - that ultimately I approved their friend requests but it still leaves me with kind of a gross feeling that they watched it all play out and then deleted me.

I've only ever deleted someone once. I have no idea if I've ever been deleted because I don't pay attention to my friends list.

I've deleted a few people... a bunch of people from HS that I never talked to friended me and then I did a "clean up" one day and deleted them because I was like what is the point, they never talked to me then and don't talk to me now... I have also been defriended by old coworkers from a previous job.

I delete people pretty regularly - usually on their birthdays (awful I know) - I usually think if I would never see or talk to this person in real life, there is no reason they need to know whats going on in my life or I in theirs. I've also gone on random defriending sprees when I think about how ridiculous it is that hundreds of people can see my stuff.

I've deleted many people. One person recently because the only thing I ever saw from her was Candy Crush requests.

And with this political year. It's been easy

Some I just unfollow. Like my brother

ETS: They are mainly people I went to HS with and reconnected with on FB

I deleted everyone at the beginning of the year. Everyone but my DH and SIL. And I felt "liberated". I actually reduced by FB time tremendously and only go on special interest groups that I like. Same for LIF. I no longer wish to socialize through social media. You can't really unfollow people because there is this expectation that you must see what they post. They get offended you did not see a pic of their kid or that you did not read on something their did. And I was bombarded on my wall by everyone status all day, every day by many people. It was like going to work in the morning and catching up with emails. I have friends. I don't need to know about what everyone is doing all day everyday. Some people got mad, offended. I just wanted to cut FB and focus in other priorities. Apparently for some people, you can't be friend if you are not on FB. Oh well!!!!

i unfollow, block, and unfriend.

if we never speak, share, chat, like, etc, then what's the point.

recently, i unfriended a few marine parents who i met through a parent-of-recruit group. they were spewing such hateful, political bull that i just couldn't take it.

in the past, i've unfriended family who i never really liked, never really spoke to... again, what's the point. although this one got back to me. the distant cousin snitched on me to my 91 year old grandmother lol.

TO ME: fb is a place where i can let my hair down with people i KNOW. even if i only know you via some initial internet connection. i'm friends with crafting people, with a few from LIF, with a few marine parents, and then the people i know IRL. if we're friends it's because I LIKE YOU
oh, and then there are a few people who are friends of friends who i would love to get to know, but am a bit shy of friending lol

I unfollow. I have zero interest in people's political agenda being pushed on me so those people are unfollowed.

I did have to block my sister. She and I don't get along. She deleted me first so I was like fine no big deal. Then she tried to add me back and I was like "nope you deleted me you're done. Not coming back." Then she would add me multiple times a day, message me, so I blocked her. Don't miss her a bit.

I just blocked one person today for their never ending political posts and they weren't even good posts, it was sharing articles from no name publications and her just claiming the world is coming to an end. So annoying. I defriended another who only sends game requests, that is really annoying too. The rest I just leave and I just skim over their posts if not interested.

Rarely. I will usually just to myself and unfollow or.hide.

I never defriend. I have been though. What irks me to no end is when someone defriends me that friend requested me in the first place. Seriously?!

I should do a clean up. Just too lazy.
