Would you go to Paris in a week?
I would absolutely go. Wouldn't think twice. Attacks can happen anywhere, at any time.

I would probably not go. In a Facebook group I'm in, a teacher has a few students in Europe right now. They were in Nice for that attack and they just flew to Munich yesterday and there was another attack today. She's freaking out, as are the kids and their families.

Question. ...what makes us any safer here in the US than Europe?
Less regulations at the boarders of some countries. So terrorists can pass through more easily.

Re: Would you go to Paris in a week?
I just don't know. We have a Paris/ Italy trip planned with kids. I'm so worried now, I don't know what to do. If it were just DH and myself I wouldn't be as concerned. How would we be able to get all of our kids out of harms way, God Forbid something went wrong?

Yes. I just returned from visiting Paris last week. I definitely thought about the negative possibilities before I left but never felt unsafe while traveling.

I probably wouldn't go to France now, well a major city I mean. I'd definitely go to the country side or a wine region.
Is there a way they could still take the flight and then go elsewhere? Perhaps the Dijon / Beaune area? This way they wouldn't lose all their money?
As for the attack in Munich, the gunman was a German-Iranian, which I would find it VERY strange if ISIS claimed that one. It's looking to be an amok shooter, but again no info for a motive has been released.

Question. ...what makes us any safer here in the US than Europe?
Less regulations at the boarders of some countries. So terrorists can pass through more easily.
The terrorists already live there. They speak the language. Usually born in the Countries. That was the case of Paris November attack and Belgium airport. This is the new ammo of ISIS. That way people are not suspected as foreign people. Nice was the first time the terrorist was not French born. But he had lived in France for years. He had a family and kids there. The German train attack was the first by a refugee. All before were done by European born individuals. Several thousand people went from Europe to Syria/Turkey in the last few years. Young individuals. That went radicalized. They came back to Europe. They are floating in Europe now. Some never came back. There has been a radicalization of kids (white included and white girls have also gone). Some have red flags on them.p when they came back. Those were the cases of Paris and Belgium. But being Europeans they were allowed back in their country. They were citizens of France and Belgium. Only Nice and Germany has now change the way they did it. But still the man in Nice had a "green card" for years. It's not about loose borders. It's a much deeper problem.

Re: Would you go to Paris in a week?
I'd have no issues going, yes the possibility is there that something may happen, but it's the world we live in today. I refuse to let some terrorist mofo scare me into not doing what I want to do.. but that just me.

I don't know what I would do. I think I would go.
I am supposed to go to Munich in November and I am nervous. I've debated canceling, but I guess it doesn't make sense.

They are pretty sure it isn't a terror attack in Munich.

Absolutely. But then again, I will be in Manhattan on Monday and every work day after that.
You can't live in fear.
I love Paris. I'm so jealous. Dying for an Eric keyser croissant now.

Would you go to Paris in a week?
No, I would be way too nervous to enjoy any of it. I don't like being in foreign countries to being with, let alone with this nonsense going on.

There are terrorists everywhere. There next attack could be in NYC, Long Island, Chicago...who knows. I wouldn't stop living my life because of it.
I agree with this. That's exactly what they want us to feel, fear of everything and I refuse to live my life like that. Yes, it's scary what's going on in the world but I can't live my life in a bubble.

Would you go to Paris in a week?
Thanks for all the input, my parents whole thing waste just go, not live in fear and clearly they reconginze NYC isn't safe either but if there is so much security at tourist attractions they feel it won't even be enjoyable. And though we live in NYC they aren't in Manhattan and certainly not at tourist spots in the city so it is different. If they were younger I think they would go.

I would go...because of this! Florida just had another shooting, would you not go to Florida? NY has been attacked numerous times, we choose to live here. I LOVE to travel and refuse to let fear stop me from seeing the world.

No I don't think I would go. I would be so anxious that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. One of my fears would be not being able to leave the country.

I'd go - I go into the middle of NYC every single day .........You have NO idea what's going to happen anywhere at any time, in any place. There isn't a chance in hell I'd miss out on a VACATION

This was my thought. Could they just lose the money on the hotel but fly into Paris and then go somewhere else like the country side or wine country?
