I feel bad for her. I am sure that they gave her a speech and her job was to deliver it effectively without seeming too nervous. She isn't a native speaker, so it was doubly difficult for her. Now, with this "scandal" she probably feels terrible.
The truth is that the media is out to get Trump for EVERYTHING. At the end of the day, no one even cares what she said, they just want to make him look bad.

Liberal media is out to get Trump and conservative media is out to get Hillary. It's the nature of the beast. I find it amusing when one side gets their panties in a bunch but ignores that their "side" is doing the same thing.

Please don't call people ignorant. I have done a lot of reading about Benghazi and Hillary's email debacle, and my come to my own conclusion that both are just smoke and mirrors being hyped up by conservative media outlets.
That being said, if someone disagreed with me, I would never call them ignorant, either in person or from behind a computer.
I wish the world in general would realize that having a different opinion doesn't make you stupid, ignorant, racist, blah, blah, blah. It's tiresome.

Exactly. To be ignorant would be to look at one side and one side only while choosing to not look at all sides (cough typically those who still believe Hillary is mostly to blame cough).

You know what I saw?? A woman, who is obviously still sick with grief, being exploited by Trump and the RNC. It was disgusting.
Hey, did you see when the GOP cut security funding for overseas embassies, which directly led to those deaths? Or when Bush sent countless men and woman to the wrong country to die? Or when the GOP spent BILLIONS in taxpayer money to investigate Clinton over Benghazi and found nothing? Or how many Americans died at foreign embassies during the Bush administration? Did you see all of those things? Give me a break.
Come on! None of that matters when you can blame Hillary!! 
I hear now she is being blamed for the plagiarized speech too. She's amazing!

Not for nothing but the media does not have to work very hard to make Trump look bad - he can do a fine job of that by himself. The media have never been so happy as to this daily circus he lays at their feet.
I watched some of the convention last night. I thought Giuliani was about to explode trying to get his points across - seriously take a chill pill and you can still speak but without popping a vein. I thought Melania did a decent job of delivering the speech that was handed to her...does she really expect us to believe that she wrote that? You could tell in the Matt Lauer interview that she did not when she added " with a little help"..yeah right. Its such a fiasco.
The whole thing is pitiful that a nation this size has these two candidates to offer us. Disgraceful.

Did anyone catch Colbert? He joked how Giuliani said trump will do for America what he did for nyc - sweep up homeless and dumo them in nj and then put in a ton of overpriced candy stores and bubba shrimp restaurants

The poster was complaining that there was no discussion of particular topic. And no one on this thread was picking up and running with that topic, so if you want to discuss something, the easiest way to do it is to start another thread, that's all. Of course there's no rule that a topic can't go off on a tangent - but if no one is discussing something you want to discuss, no one is stopping anyone from starting a thread about it either. Jeez

I feel bad for Melania. You hardly ever hear a peep out of her and the first major event where she actually speaks more than just a sentence turns out to be a huge clusterf*ck.
But it actually shows that Trump's staff and advisors are not seasoned and experienced as they should be to let something like this happen. And to make matters worst, Trump's campaign manager is blaming Hillary for this when her campaign didn't even say anything about it. Trump's camp can't spin this in their favor no matter how hard they try. This is a huge embarrassment for them.
I didn't even think her speech was good. It had no real substance as to what kind of man her husband really is. It was all generalizations. No specific stories or actual events was included. Her speech didn't do Trump any favors. I don't think anything about the RNC thus far has done the GOP any favors.

It is entirely possible that no one CAN be fired- if she wrote it, whose fault is it really? Granted people were probably checking it, but why would they think to compare it against prior potential FLOTUS speeches?
FWIW Joe Biden withdrew from the 1988 Presidential race after he was caught plagiarizing. So he did pay a price.
