50th anniversary ideas
We are having a 50th surprise party for my parents next month. It's just about 40 of their closest friends and some family. So far I have the hall, food and have servers coming and a bartender. I have an idea to make it personal having people fill out some party sheets. Really keeping it simple and fun bc my parents really care about good drinks and food.
Looking for centerpiece ideas and some decorating ideas without it being too crazy or cheesy. A friend said since they like wine maybe doing big wine glasses as centerpieces and fill with those water beads. Anyone have any other ideas? I'll have pics of them places around as well. anniversary cards

Re: 50th anniversary ideas
I just made a really cute book 8X8 for my dad's 60th. I had everyone send a memory/good wish along with a pic and made a little scrapbook. I had pages at the party as well so a few little kids drew some out (as well as adults who hadn't gotten to send anything before I made the book).

I like the anniversary cards. That's sweet and they'll love reading through them
Centerpiece - I like simple. I'd do low simple hydrangea (or if you know what flowers they used at their wedding, use those) and a nice frame with one of their wedding photos. Different for each table.

I don't remember where I saw it but someone made centerpieces by spray painting empty wine bottles. They were gold and it looked really cool.

That sounds really cool. Any ideas what to put in them?

How many tables?
If 5 I would use each one for a anniversary pic. In a frame,10th 20th etc
I also love creating a big 5 and 0on the wall using pictures of them

Re: 50th anniversary ideas
I had a party for my parents 40th and I did those clear square vases from Michaels. I laminated 2 pictures for each vase. Each one was from an "era" in their marriage. I had one with wedding pics, one with pics of our family, one with pics of their grandchildren etc. I also laminated quotes that tied into those pictures and put them on the thinner sides. I filled the vase with like 8 roses cut down so you could only see the heads. 40th anniversary is ruby so I used red, but 50th is gold so you can probably find champagne colored.

50th anniversary ideas
We did a wine themed party for my dad's 60th. I had a florist put together really simple centerpieces in wine carafes and then a turned some wine glasses upside down around the flowers and put tea lights on the base of the glasses. simple and pretty.
