This story is just awful. I just read she had a gun that was passed down to her from a family member. Apparently she did this on her husbands birthday to hurt him. I cannot imagine what this man is going through right now.

I can't imagine how mentally ill someone has to be to "punish" another person in that way. Once she is medicated and realizes what she did, she is going to be suicidal. I really feel for the husband. So sad

She was killed by the police.

What I find especially chilling is that she posted on FB that she needs guns to protect her family.
Sadly, they needed to be protected from her.

And the 6yr old that shot and killed his 4 yr old brother with his mothers gun.
May have been the same day as the story you mentioned. Or within a day of it.

I read she stabbed them both before killing them. Seems she was intent on killing them and would have regardless of having a gun or not. We need to address mental illness and do something about it.

I think the laws need to change so that the mentally ill cannot buy or own guns. We should be able to report mentally unstable people that have guns and have those guns taken away. Even in NYS, they don't do anything if you report someone that has a pistol permit for acting crazy and making threats. It's absolutely insane.

I've only seen news of the stabbing on sites that I wouldn't call credible.

I agree but I cannot figure out how to begin to tackle it - it's a slippery slope.
