Favor for retirement party

We are throwing a retirement party for an extended family member at a small venue with a private room. It is on a Saturday night over the summer with approximately 75 people coming.

We said no gifts, but unsure whether people will listen.

Do we need to provide some sort of favor? And what would be appropriate? We don't want to spend a lot, but probably want to do a little something. I was thinking about having a cookie made with their picture printed on it? Thanks!

For my DD's Communion party favor, we ordered Lindt chocolate truffles from Lindt.com. They were having a sale of the 75-count bags. We put 3 chocolates in a little 2x2x2 box and closed them with stickers. For 112 favors it cost about $100 and we had some candy left over.

I'd feel weird biting into someone's face.
Chocolates are a good idea.

Re: Favor for retirement party

Definitely don't need a favor. If you want to do one, edible is the.way to.go. You could do vacation themed cookies (palm trees, flip flops, airplanes, suitcase, hawaiian shirt or bathing suit, beach umbrella, etc.) google has tons of pics. Or you could make it related to their profession or hobby.

Agree. I think all favors are a waste personally and they're not cheap. I'd rather take the money and put it towards upgrading the booze lol.

No favor needed at all. I threw one for my parents and did not do a favor and no one cared or noticed. Spent the money I would have used on favors on more booze and better food. Chat Icon

That's a cute idea. A "to go" cookie table with boxes/bags and a few options.
I know even if I'm full - I would totally take some and eat them in the car on the way home lol

But again - not necessary
