I can't seem to find information that I know is out there on a family member...anyone really good at this?

What kind of info are you looking for? Criminal or just personal information?

I have an Uncle who served time for murder (or so we think)
He then was murdered in 1973 (March) . The details around both of these events are blurred and fuzzy. Not many relatives left and those who are have different stories. His biological daughter reached out for help and I feel so bad that we can't help her.
Any ideas?

Anyone good at researching people?
NYS dept of corrections records is online. Not sure how far back they go but you can search by name and it give the crime and the dates served.
