I went to a shower with a grooms wishing well and I knew the groom liked game of thrones and beer so I got him GoT beer steins.

I would get tools or house related things. Screwdriver, step stool, paint brush, home depot gc, etc....

Why is it stupid? I think it's a nice idea to involve the groom.
My first thought was a small screwdriver set. Like the tiny ones that you can open electronics with.
Other ideas, beer, bbq stuff, outdoor stuff, something with his favorite sports team logo on it (like bottle opener or beer cozy)

The problem is in the title of your thread... A bridal shower with a wishing well for the groom!?!? The day is about her. My Dh would be mortified if there was a wishing well for him. I'm with pjc, a set of balls would be fine.

Exactly. I feel like every event these days is trying to squeeze more and more $$ and gifts out if people. It's getting ridiculous!

I actually think this idea could be pretty cool if there was some direction given to the shower guests. I would get a screw/plug set for mounting things on the wall, utility knife, paint brushes, etc...
I think it's more useful to have a wishing well for the groom in a "home theme", rather than a traditional wishing well where you get brillo pads and dish soap lol

His guys can buy him screws and flashlights (or a lapdance) at his bachelor party.

DH probably uses the house/kitchen stuff we got at our shower wishing well more than I do Why is a guy more likely to use flashlights & batteries & tape & a screwdriver than a woman would? LOL seems a little silly.

Just make one big wishing well for BOTH to use- with all household items from tools to cooking gear.

I agree. Unless it's a Jack and Jill shower where the groom is part of the day's festivities I think it's a stupid idea. I don't see the need for grooms gifts at a BRIDAL shower.
