Definitely stay. Instead of commuting time you will be working, so you will be gone the same number of hours. And the vacation is terrible compared to 5 weeks. Plus the stability is worth something.

STAY. What they are offering wouldn't make me leave a stable job.

Re: job wwyd
Stay! The only part of the new job that sounds better is the commute time but seems you will lose that time anyway in working hours.

Re: job wwyd
Your current job sounds way better than the new one. As much as it's tempting to leave for a shorter commute, I think I'd stay.

Re: job wwyd
I don't think I'd be able to walk away from a pension and the flexible hours (especially with kids).

Re: job wwyd
I would stay at my current job.
Other than the shorter commute, your hours are longer and you have to work weekends and your vacation is cut. Not worth it IMO. With kids, vacation time is more important (commute also but your current job seems flexible with time so its a wash for me).

Re: job wwyd
I would stay. Although you're saving in commute time, your hours are longer. Vacation time is more at your current job. You just got a promotion so they value you (even though they did it late).

Re: job wwyd
From a job description angle, it seems like this new job would be great. You will have the opportunity to grow and learn more which might mean promotions or being able to get other jobs with higher levels of experience or skills in the future right?
From a salary angle, Are you a salaried employee or an hourly employee? If you are hourly, working those extra hours will give you a nice bump in salary. IMO, I wouldn't take a new position at the same salary working more hours. That just seems like a step down to me.
