What Car Insurance?
We have Geico for over a decade now and have never had a problem... until they jacked my rate up this term. no accidents or anything like that... i have been hearing its happening to a lot of people.
We have state farm for homeowners and tried to bundle it but it was the same price as Geico... so no bargain there.
Just looking for opinions on a new decent insurance company. Thanks

Hi- we just switched from Geico after being with them for 5 years. Like you, they kept raising our rates. We ended up with Traveler's and saving $600 a year

Re: What Car Insurance?
my BIL owns an agency and shops us around for the best one and he got us into Adirondack. It's great and I had an accident a few years back that was my fault and they didn't even raise my rates from that.

Re: What Car Insurance?
I use travelers. I had a broker actually someone on this site, Jen looking for me for Home and Car insurance she came back with travelers being the cheapest. I ended up getting even a better rate from travelers through my job!

What Car Insurance?
We switched from Geico to Allstate last year when we were shopping for homeowners. I am saving $200 a month in car insurance as geico jacked our rates up from $170 to close to $400 a month for no reason. Right now I'm back at $170 with all state for better coverage than I had with geico. this is for 2 cars full coverage and $250 deductible very happy

Re: What Car Insurance?
I switched from Geico to Allstate because they were saving me a good amount of $. Never again. My car got hit and it was horrible! Every single part of the claims process was a nightmare. Trying to say I was at fault even though I wasn't, then saying it has to go under comp instead of collision, then collision instead of comp. It took them so long to pay out. Then the shop they sent me to damaged my car and they wanted me to pay the deductible for that.
It was literally months of arguing until I hired an attorney for such a simple claim where I wasn't even at fault. I will never ever deal with them again. If your going to switch, I wouldn't go with Allstate. I went back to Geico. The savings just weren't worth it.

Re: What Car Insurance?
I personally would not recommend Allstate. They are cheap for a reason. I would recommend travelers, Liberty mutual or amica.

DH actually had his old car on state farm with the homeowners os it was already kind of bundled... and once that car came off the road, they never raised our homeowners,... so... i'm not saying anything to them haha I am sure they will catch on at some point though.

the more i ask around hte more i hear similar stories about Allstate...
So far I think Liberty Mutual is the cheapest... i was surprised at that to be honest.
Thanks everyone for the input!! :)

Liberty Mutual
You'd have to call around so you're comparing apples to apples.

I have AllState now since our home owners insurance was $600 cheaper a year for the same coverage and then bundled with our cars we are saving over $250 a month! I did really like Liberty Mutual too though.

I have been getting quotes that match my Geico policy coverage. so its all the same coverage at least so i can compare prices of the exact same thing. I am waiting on one company to get back to me, but liberty mutual seems to be the cheapest so far.

I could not agree more - I thought the rates were great - until I called around.
I ultimately ended up using Jen from Parker and Bradley. She was great.

Re: What Car Insurance?
I would use a broker, they can shop around for you for the best rates. My aunt is an insurance broker so I used her... but I know there is a vendor on here you can use as well
