American Express is the worst!!!!!
It's not really the worst, just insanely complicated.
Why do they make it so difficult to use points!!!!

American Express is the worst!!!!!
I only redeem my points for gift cards through Amex and I've found it really easy. What are you trying to redeem for: travel, etc.?

American Express is the worst!!!!!
Maybe it's because it's a corporate account - I am an account manager, but I cannot redeem points for travel as an account manager. Every person tells me something different, it's such a freaking hassle.

I'm the account manager for our AMEX corp as well.
Your boss needs to authorize you to use the rewards separately. It takes one phone call to the rewards department. Then he just needs to get on the phone and say he authorizes you. a one-time thing. It took me about 10 minutes, with my boss talking to them for 30 seconds.

Thank you - they told me as an account manager I cannot use the points for travel, unless I have my own card? Their customer service gives me different answers.

Are you booking online?
as long as you know the 4-digit code, you should be able to "pay with points"
i book flights using our main card (that has the rewards on it) for multiple passengers.
is the card you are trying to use under your log-in? That may be the issue. It needs to be authorized under your log-in (or you need to use the main log-in) in order for you to use it.

The person who has the main log-in won't give it to me. So I'm handcuffed and have to do it over the phone. HR doesn't care. Meanwhile, she's a low level nothing and I work for the owner and we've been dragging this on for months. She is on a power trip.
