I thought you had to have switched back in October to be able to vote in this primary. Otherwise, I would have also.
I'm a registered Republican, so I'm not voting.

NY Primaries
Wow, didn't know you had to be registered to a party to vote on a party. Here (Texas) they don't care. If you are a registered voter, your vote counts. You could only vote for one party though so you had to choose there, but it didn't mean you were committing to that party from then on.
I am unaffiliated to any party and I voted for Sanders.
ETA: I know someone who's registered Republican but voted for Clinton because she was afraid of Trump. LOL They really don't care what your card says. You vote as you please. You just can only vote for one party.

I'm registered Republican...not sure...Trump acts like he's on a reality show when you see him during the debates...making faces, calling people names...childish s*it...Cruz is meh...looks creepy, and I don't know if I can trust him...I like Kasich..but he has no chance...

Re: NY Primaries
I did the global primary that the Democrats Abroad Group organized (with our whopping 21 delegates) on Super Tuesday.
I didn't do the paper work to get my NYS primary ballot. I believe I would have had to then file a NYS tax return and I'd rather not bother with that.
I do have to get the paper work in for the election but I have time to do that. It's a real pain to have to register every election.
But the overall experience of voting here was just... wierd. There was a guy dressed up as Uncle Sam (creepy looking) and there were various American foods for sale. There was also no privacy and most people saw who you voted for.
I voted for Clinton (but I didn't add that to the poll).

NY Primaries
I'm thinking Sanders will take NY.
I think it will be close, very close. I also think that his performance has really blindsided HRC.
I think we ALL (on all sides) thought she would have this in the bag..he had some momentum and people kind of poo-poo'd it..but it just slowly grew and grew. I think this wasn't the cake walk that everyone expected for her.
I am riveted by this whole election!

I read an article last week saying even if Bernie gets more votes in NY, the superdelegates are going to give the state of NY to Hillary.

Statistics say that Clinton will win (the primary). There have also been a few articles floating around about how Sanders is being a bit sexist toward Clinton. I am still processing this, so I have no comment.
My opinion is that if Sanders wins by A LOT, then that's a problem. Clinton still has her super delegates.
I'm sorry, but I am not a huge Sanders fan. I really like his ideas, but they just won't work at this time.

It's funny how we're getting candidate advertisement on TV now - since this year the NY primary actually means something.

Re: NY Primaries
Why would anyone ever want to register as an independent? That's such a waste since it disqualified you from primary voting. Register either republican or democrat even if you don't find yourself leaning in that party direction.
This way you can either vote for the guy in the primary you like or you can vote against somebody you don't like to try to block their nomination.

Well I'm registered under no party, so I can't vote in the primaries either. I have my reasons. Thank God it's a free country and we can choose to register how we want, even if it's Democrat, Independent, Green, Libertarian, Constitution, or no party at all.

Re: NY Primaries
I saw on the news last night that 7 in 10 people don't like Trump.
That sounds about right to me. Let him get the nom. It ensures a democratic win which we desperately need.
